No. And that shouldn't matter. If its offensive to a certain group of people, then its offensive, regardless of reason... I get the Redskins name change. I get the removal of Chief Wahoo. But anyone who has a problem with the teams being named Indians, Braves, or Chiefs are over-sensitive, effeminate bitches. Period.

I agree, the team wasn't named for any ethnic group's leader, it was named for H Roe Bartle, aka The Chief.

Back to subject. I don't know how they came up with that name, but it is pretty lame.
