That was an outlier. Sometimes a guy just has a career day. Ward was in perfect position on almost every one of Chase's catches.

My biggest Ward memory is toward the end of the good Super Bowl. Some 49er caught the ball on (I think) the last 49er drive on a short pass. Ward was about 10 yards downfield and squared up on the guy. They showed a camera view from behind the receiver, and you could see nothing but grass and the end zone behind Ward, but he was lasered in on the receiver and drove him out of bounds. If he had missed that tackle the world would be a dark place today.
