Would be one of the dumbest moves in NFL history. No way he will get a contract strong enough to offset $20M of lost income in 2023 and 2024. One would think he's not dumb enough to go down this path, but you never know.

It also isn't all that uncommon that a player over values his worth. Has a contentious hold out and then realizes he screwed up but pride (hurt feelings, whatever) won't allow him to sign with his original team and he goes somewhere else for less money than he could have originally gotten with his original team.

We've seen it in KC and it's happened to other teams. Bell is the extreme example of hurting himself financially but there are less extreme examples of this.

The #Chiefs are trading star DT Chris Jones to the #Bears. KC receives a 2024 first-rounder, a 2025 second-rounder, and DE Trevis Gipson. More details to come:

A first and a second is not great by itself. Depends on where the first is at.

Parody account

Molitoth 08-26-2023 02:51 PM

Is this Piece of shit signed traded yet?

We should talk about the compensation though - wonder how realistic it is

In a hypothetical trade like this, i just want to clarify the where the picks land. So they would be assigned their number based on how the bears did the previous season, as if it was a bears pick, correct?

how they do this year, yes. I don't think there are high expectations for them and the Lions and the Vikings are expected to be at the top of the division.

I’d sign up for that in a heartbeat

Not necessarily hoping for a trade here. But should a trade occur, maybe a combination of draft picks and existing players would be feasible. I have to admit that I do not follow the Bears very closely. Does anyone here have a short list of Bear players that the Chiefs might be able to use this season?
