You seem to act like officiating is good and there aren't calls damn near every game that effect the outcome.

Sorry but if it wasn't a common practice to give a warning there, Reid wouldn't have been livid about it.

He wasn't warned because as Andy pointed out today, he never checked with the LJ.

And to be frank, he's ****ing 8 feet from the ball and looking at it. You have to be a moron to not realize you're not even close to legal. As a WR you line up off the center's feet. Toney's back foot is where his front foot should be.

Look at where Rice is lined up, legally.

Toney is lined up almost a full yard ahead of Rashee.

And officiating ISN'T good. But this conspiratorial bullshit that the league is against us is ****ing reeruned. It's a fast game played and officiated by humans, who are made to look even worse than they are because every decision can be shown to the TV audience a frame at a time in ****ing 4/8k resolution.

He may have been "barely" offsides but there is no reason whatsoever to have made it even close. I mean he's like a yard off
If he's behind the line LJ gives him a lot of slack
If he checks LJ either let's it slide or he scoots him back

Easy call. And unfortunately this dumb mistake made Andy and pat look like chicken little. We had everyone on our side last week.

Pretty huge non-call for the Baltimore Ravens...

"During the Baltimore Ravens’ thrilling 37-31 win over the Los Angeles Rams — via a 76-yard punt return for a touchdown by wideout Tylan Wallace in overtime — officials missed a clear block in the back by the Ravens during the play. And it didn’t take place far from the ball. Instead, the block took place when a Rams player was angling toward Wallace right as he turned the ball upfield and into the open. Instead of making a tackle, the Rams defender narrowly missed Wallace’s legs."

Dude, how was that a deviation from common practice?

How often do you see a WR line up a FULL YARD ahead of legal? As DJLN said somewhere, they HAVE to call that. It's blatant. And the fact that Andy came out today and said Toney was only an "inch or two" from legal is a ****ing terrible message to send. Shit, just give the media the same, "I take full responsibility and we'll get it fixed" bullshit that you've been saying all year while never fixing things. That's better than continuing to make it as if it was a bad call, or even a close one.

And I'm not sure what games you're watching, but we GET a lot of calls as well. Everyone here forgets them and focuses on when we get ****ed.

When the team starts acting like the fanbase when it comes to refs, it's a problem.

Ask Von on the following play.

As @TwistedChief pointed out earlier today, the idea that Miller was offsides on the next play has been proven wrong.

I think big difference being that the NFL is inconsistent enough here that this becomes a judgement call which you'd prefer not to make in crunch time. Toneys wasn't a judgment call. it was blatantly a penalty even factoring the massive leeway line judges give us.

But totally agree that officiating absolutely needs to be a priority this offseason. Targeting jawaan Taylor while lane Johnson can do the same damn thing every snap is just comical .

That video is from the 2nd quarter, not the 4th quarter. It wasn't "crunch time." Buffalo was false-starting the entire game, just like Lane Johnson. KC has a target on their backs, that's the only trend that seems pretty clear.

The last picture I saw last night showed differently, anything new today I’ve missed from an almost 400 mile drive.

Toney was lining up "offsides" all game. It was just at the end they decided to call it.

So they could have called him all game but waited till the final drive when the Bills needed a stop.

:shake:

And not a good look for Toney or the coaching staff that this guy was not lining up correctly all game.

I get it. It's bullshit that we got targeted for it before but it is consistent with the current NFL that gives a LOT of leeway for it. I don't think you can address this until the off-season because it's too late in the season and you don't want these stretches of games to peppered with these kinds of penalties. Make it a point of emphasis next year and penalize the hell out of it in the preseason.

Toneys on the other hand was cut and dry. His penalty was so egregious it went beyond leeway receivers already get

I'm not even mentioning the Toney penalty. He was offsides. It was a good call. I'm talking specifically about the inconsistency across the league for offensive lineman being able to get a jump on the snap of the ball.

That makes way more sense for Reid to be livid. That certainly feels like the refs were holding it in their back pocket which is a bad bad look for the officials.
