Will this be one of those things where they wait to bring him up until later in the year to control him longer? (if he's ready of course) I really hope not. If we could possibly make a run at Soto and get this guy up to the big club...holy moly.

Jac Caglianone is slashing .258/.299/.452 in an offensive league. I think he's going to need some time.

'Framing' is the biggest crock of shit ever. Thankfully, it will go the way of the do-do here in a few years when the automated strike zone becomes a thing and be forgotten forever.

Agree 1000%. Pitch framing is complete and utter bullshit. You're telling me someone watched every pitch thrown to Johnny Bench and figured out his pitch framing skills? Yogi Berra? Mickey Cochrane? Penalizing catchers because the pitchers can't throw strikes? It's ridiculous.

Doesn't even make sense. Umps **** up call constantly, so how the hell you going to determine if it was because of the catcher framing well or if the ump is just shit.

Are you guys serious about Soto or kidding? Like... What?

I can only speak for myself. But yeah, I'm totally serious about wanting Soto and thinking he'd be a perfect solution for our RF issues along with being a tremendous shot in the arm and compliment to our lineup.

However, I also realize the chances of him signing with KC are between 0 and maybe .1%.

So you're sayin' there's a chance!

Hes going to go. Him not being a good framer is a plus in my book. Framing is cheating. People who frame should be disciplined weekly going forward. I know everyone has to do it now due to WAR shit but it's ridiculous.

Yadier Molina will be a HOF and Perez will outperform all of his stats and HR by a ton.

Buddy just sent me this little article about Manaea signing with the Royals. Considering it’s coming from Jim Bowden’s speculation, I’m inclined to say it has zero possibility of happening, but I guess he might be on the radar. Wouldn’t hate it.

Also, how about Gerrit Cole opting out? He had four years remaining at $36 million/season. I guess there someone out there that will outmatch that? But whatever…

Ummm, is that sarcasm? Thankfully it’s not a lot of money. Royals had a $500K opt out if Stratton declined his $4.5 million option, so they were on the hook for a half mil anyway. And if Stratton looks like shit in ST or makes the team but doesn’t perform, he’ll be gone by June and they’ll eat the money.

Renfroe also declined the market, so we’ve got him for another year at $7.5 million. Don’t hate having him on the club, but not as an every day guy. Off the bench, and as a spot outfielder, he’s got some value. We really need to truly upgrade at least one of our OF spots BAD.
