Pinch me. Is this for real. We got the absolute best player in the draft.

tk13 04-26-2008 01:39 PM

Outstanding stuff. I can't believe NO was offering a 2nd and next year's 1st too. That's a ton. But we got maybe the best defensive player in the draft.

That's a crapshoot. Dorsey's a sure thing. Seems like a good kid who's happy to be going to KC.

We are solid either way. The best player in the draft, or two #1s and a #2? Either is great.

It's a gamble. If you think he's Sapp, you stay put...

So they made their statemend on just how good they think he is.

It's a shame they gave Sims 90. Can't do that trick again, I'd imagine.

Agreed. If Carl had pulled the trigger on that it would have been hard to fault him. IMO, it was a win-win.

I'm just glad Oakland didn't take that deal. They were foolish not to.

The guys that are watching from home (and being video'd for ESPN) have hats from ALL the teams so they can put it on when they're picked. My guess is the Chiefs were selecting so he had the KC hat ready. I'm sure he has a Pats hat in his hand right now.

Petro making a good point. We could be in a holding pattern until #10, waiting to see what's available for NO's pick. So the trade goes through if somebody we wants on the baord.

I'm not saying that's the case, but it's a possibility.

Frazod 04-26-2008 01:46 PM

Well, the NFL certainly predicted the studs correctly. Six guys, six picks, nobody butthurt waiting for the phone to ring late into the round.

There are practical jokes among college roommates, and then there are near-fatal errors in judgment like the one LSU's Tyson Jackson made last Halloween.

"I decided to play a prank on Glenn," the defensive back said. "I wanted to scare him."

That would be Glenn Dorsey, the Tigers' 6-foot-2, 303-pound All-American defensive tackle - a guy not many people can scare.

But Jackson - a pretty imposing figure himself as a 6-5, 291-pound defensive end - thought he could rattle the big guy. So Jackson left the front door to their apartment cracked open, as if someone had broken in. He flipped the electric breaker off and crouched in the laundry room, wearing a mask and waiting to pounce.

"When Glenn came in, you could tell he thought something was up," Jackson said. "I got excited."

Dorsey stormed through the apartment, shouting, "Who's in here?!" Jackson sprang from his hiding place, a towering, menacing, masked figure appearing in front of Dorsey. Surely, a squeal was coming.

"Nope," Jackson said. " Now, a normal person would yell and run. And he yelled... but this man grabbed me with both hands. He picked me up off the floor.

"He was about to throw me out the window. We live on the second floor, so I started hollering, 'Glenn, it's me! Glenn, stop! It's me!'"
