The reason you played STs in HS is not because you were great at.
Its because you sucked at everthing else. "Zilla, SNR!!!!". "Punt team!!!" |
Is it just me, or wasn't our special teams play dog shit over the last few years? How is that possible with the aces we were holding? Was it like the same tournament that Boss was playing in last night when Qs beat his cowboys?

Toub groomed them to be gunners over berry, bowe, and charles...
oh wait, I mean he 'chose' them over the 3 other 3rd stringers who only played on special teams... jesus tits, special teams coaches get handed bags of meat to work with...the shittiest, cheapest cuts of meat available apparently keeping our 'special teams gunner aces specialists' is more important than improving our actual roster depth... |

It sucks they cut Powe. I thought he was playing well.

It amazes me that people don't read the thread - which is titled "Chiefs start making cuts" and included several posts with links to the cuts :shake: |

And the idea that all good teams treat their special teams players like "cuts of meat" is ridiculous. Plenty of good players and starters play special teams. Not everyone is good at special teams, and few are exceptional at it. Like I said, the move is fine if Cooper and Parker end up being true quality depth guys or nickel/dime guys. But last time we had this conversation, we carelessly traded away Javier Arenas and the backup guys like Agnew and Cox ended up being not only complete disasters, but also did nothing to help out in special teams. |

But people trying to undermine these guys as not being good special teams guys or claiming that this was a Toub decision are being ridiculous. They were very good at special teams, and I'm sure Toub would have loved to keep them. He wouldn't bring these guys in to be gunners if not. |

Wouldn't it be nice if we could get special teams players who were good at doing something other than special teams? The players released could barely make it on the field exceptt to recklessly run down the field and throw their bodies at return men....a position that doesn't require a lot of skill...sorry they are gone |
It concerns me that they cut or traded several good special teams guys (Brown, Diles, and Jones for example). I hope they don't screw up the good special teams thing we had going. We have cut a bunch of guys and added like seven (?) new players today.

And like I said, I'm not pushing for Copper, who was exceptional in special teams. I think the idea that a guy like Ron Parker, who was cut 5 times, is going to be that much better than Brown at CB + special teams in total value is silly, just as it was absolutely insane to trade Javier Arenas and replace him with Agnew and Cox. I always give these things a chance. But if Cox is anything short of exceptional at nickel, or at least a quality depth corner, then this is a terrible move. IMO. |
Toub is probably the best st coach in the league. Pretty sure he had his say.

So we should have kept how many special teams aces?

These moves were made not because of special teams. I agree if people want to debate their talent at cb and WR. They're definitely bubble talent. |
It would be cool if Chad Hall could be our Wes Welker!

I cut myself because the club broke ties with the even shittier version of the shitty DMC.

Jesus. We just got dickslapped across the face by Dorsey.
This is how a real team operates. Cut the ****ing fat and move on. All these dudes we thought would be here just got the chairs pulled out from under them. It's like a Tarentino movie - no one is safe. |
If it weren't for marijuana, Pioli wouldn't have a single draft pick worth a mother****.

Theres days when i get on cp and wonder if there are enough drugs in the world to counter the negativity brewed here. Then theres days like today where i just want to rep the **** out of everyone who sarcastically says " special teams Ace".
