None of these reports shock me.

Maybe, just maybe, we took a chance on a very very young (and immature) QB with all the tool sand it will pay off.
When you really think about it, age wise Bray is the equivalent of a guy going into just his second year. He's a year young than Murray, who was drafted the year after him, and only a year older than Carson Wentz. That's nuts. |

Bray honestly has better tools than Pickston Lynch

Ive been Gay for Bray since day one.
This staff has approached his situation as ideally as possible. |

Jeff George wasn't such a bad backup QB in his later years. If Bray in determined enough, maybe he can have a career like that. |

Bray looks leaner to me. Anyone else notice that?

First practice and Justin March is already making plays. He's going to start next to DJ this year.

Tyler Bray comes in with a few perfect passes in team period. QBs impressing so far.

Tyler Bray put on quite a show at first 11 on 11 period at practice. Two beautiful deep throws, though Frankie Hammond dropped one of them

Murray to Hill on the cross.

Mike Williams has had a lot of drops today, in drills and team.

Hogan with the lightning quick release to Parker on a quick curl.

Alex Smith just answered Bray with a great ball to Albert Wilson.

If Bray sticks at #2.....does that mean Murray gets cut? I highly doubt Hogan gets cut and I don't see him lasting on the practice squad.
Someone getting a mystery ACL injury again? |
Alex Smith just dropped a dime to @iThinkIsee12 deep down the field. Perfectly placed over the shoulder & Wilson caught with fingertips.

Bray stares down receiver. Ball wide of intended target. Marcus Cooper with the pick.

DJ White with a nice pass breakup down the field. Pass from @aaronmurray11 was intended for Kashif Moore.

Marcus Cooper picked off Bray in 11-on-11s after picking off Murray in one-on-ones. Poison for the backup candidates today.

Chris Conley made a nice grab over Phillip Gaines today. First time we've seen him stand out in a while.

Chris Jones again...he's looking good today...the first opportunity to see him in pads.

The stars of today's OL-DL pass-rush drills (from my POV) were Chris Jones, Rakeem Nunez-Roches and Jaye Howard.

Chris mother****ing Jones.

Good lord this D is gonna eat Denver alive. Won't need to acore 30 a game like we did last year either on them.
|
Smith threaded the needle to Wilson between two defenders. Wilson able to come up with tough catch in 7 on 7.

Cooper working exclusively at safety? |
As probably his biggest fan on this board, I honestly expected to hear Chris Jones would struggle early on (young, DL), but if he's already looking dominant in 1 on 1's on the first day of pads, I think it's safe to say he could really have an impact this year.

First big hit of camp goes to Eric Murray, who flattens Rod Streeter on a short route. Most underrated rookie on the team. Dude is gonna be a baller |
All you need is Marcus ****ing Peters
|
Peters and Berry alone put it in as one of the top secondaries in the league

...who didn't want to come to work? Just more reason to move on. We have a half dozen young DBs on this roster and the 'leader of the defense' doesn't feel like showing up to help them grow. |

So, what's a good day to pop by to watch camp if one were inclined?
Any days they are doing something unique or more to see than regular? |
Honestly, camp is cool to see once or twice. Once you've been there and seen it, it's kind of meh to me. It was much better when they were in River Falls.
|
FWIW, Marcus Cooper started outside at CB today in the nickel package.... Nelson kicked into the slot.
That shit better be temporary. |

I thought Cooper was making the move to safety, but if he's not, I can't see him making the team whatsoever.
|
Peters, Gaines and Nelson is a young trio at corner but damn, it's a high potential one.

I didn't even realize that bum was still on the team. People gonna see this secondary is a dumpster fire once we get to preseason. |

"Second-round rookie defensive tackle Chris Jones was arguably the most impressive defensive lineman. Jones’ unique combination of size (6 feet 6, 310 pounds) and athleticism really shined, as he proved to be too much to handle on a few occasions. He fired off the ball quick and flashed a pass-rush arsenal, including an effective swim move and bull rush"
This guy looked like an absolute monster from his college reel...if he pans out, having him next to Poe with Houston on the outside will be "interesting." |

I doubt our secondary will be a "dumpster fire" as we still have Berry, Parker and Peters. Gaines has demonstrated he can play in the league pending injuries. Plus, we drafted 3 young DBs. Not all of them are going to excel, nor are all of them going to flame out. All in all, I like the makeup of this secondary.....and we have a couple of excellent DB coaches too. Arrow points up. |
