Get the next goal, go up by 3 and demoralize them. Hope Kadri gets a hat trick and pulls out his big dick and wipes it on their bench.
|
Where's Todd Bertuzzi at when you need him for Kadri
|
Lol this series was over once Bennington was hurt. So I would just keep hammering Kadri.
|
ROFL
Kadri's gonna get a hat trick. |
ROFL

LOL

Enterprise Center got pretty quiet...
|
Yeah, our season went the way of JB for sure. We had a shot but that's one player we had to have. Unfortunate circumstances to say the least.
|
Tarasenko of a few years ago would've buried that one without batting an eye. One of my favorite non-Avs guys.
|
It was just bad luck he didn't score that shot. The puck hit Kuemper's hip pad. An inch to the left and that's a goal.
|
YEAH BABY
|
Damn. Crazy game.
|
Incredible puck movement on those last two power plays. Just getting wide open shots.

But NOBODY does cross-ice passing better than STL. No idea where it came from but it's been that way all season. It's truly incredible and really some of the best I've seen in my time as a hockey fan. Robert Thomas is their top guy and while they don't have a Gretzky out there or anything, it seems like damn near anyone that has it on their stick can connect one. That's what makes them different than most good passing teams. It honestly does more to explain having 9 20 goal scorers than any individual scoring skill. I hate Steve Ott. Will always hate Steve Ott. Guys like Steve Ott and Tyson Nash are why I've always thought the "you'd love him if he were YOUR asshole" line is bullshit. Trash players are trash players whether they're on your team or anyone else's (y'know, like ****ing pile of shit Nazem Kadri). But man, Steve Ott has coached the HELL out of the Blues Power Play. I've had to grudgingly give him credit for it. It pains my heart to do so. Because Steve Ott can still eat all the dicks. |
This 3rd period is going to be insane

Yeah, felt like those were two of the most passive PKs in the playoffs, and that's not to say "well, the Avalanche just sucked", but the opposite... they were far more aggressive against the Preds because their PP was absolutely awful for most of 3 games. I feel like the Avalanche aren't really sure what to do against this PP, so they aren't overly aggressive against it.
|
This feels like a game where the blues get desperate, start pinching and get one rush. That rush scores and we have ourself a series. If it doesn’t, the momentum is sucked out, the next pinch becomes an odd man rush and a 5-3 game that’s effectively over.
The Colorado forecheck has tuned up biggly this period. They aren’t going to get the equalizer without taking some risks. |
Well ****.
|
Well, called that one.
|
Kadri definitely making his presence felt tonight. Wow.
|
Can’t just keep turning the puck over.
Can’t play this sloppy in the post-season against a team that’s NOT as good as you are. Definitely can’t do it as an underdog. Just didn’t play well enough with the puck tonight. Too many lazy (and uncharacteristic) turnovers. |
Oh, there's the spearing that's been missing.
|
Avs clearly much more physical that PPK. That's what they need...
|
Heh. And Rants breaks his slump.
|
Wow, look what happens when a goalie who had given up 2 goals a game and saved 95% of shots gets trucked from a series.
But sure, let’s talk more about the Avs worst defenseman being out. |
The good news? Unless Kadri finds a way to injure Vasy and like three other forwards, the Avs will still be without a Cup they didn’t steal from Quebec.
|
Kadri getting a hat trick after all that is pretty hilarious.

Blues didn't play their game tonight. Still made a game of it and had a chance to take the game in spite of their offense literally disappearing for the first period outside of their first goal. Husso's inconsistent play allowed three goals.
Kadri picked the right guy in Binnington to injure in Game 3. Hopefully he finds a way to get injured that takes him out of the rest of the playoffs in the next game. |

Tampa looks to win their 3rd anyways. Unless Kadri can do his work on Vasilevskiy.
|
I guess that’s why they call them the blues.

The hyperbole from Avs fans and media is out of control. Hell, the National Media has gone out of their way to completely whitewash Kadri’s past. Shame that the best player in this series was relegated to the press box, would have been fun to see how the series turned out. |

That was for all who hate. -Nazem Kadri
So, for the 4 Twitter burners that tweeted threats, great. Thanks for blowing up nothing, while vilifying an entire city and fanbase, media. |

Literally a handful of Twitter burners said some reprehensible shit about Kadri, and the media took it to task to competely whitewash his entire career.
Well done, media. |

He had no problem running to Akim Aliu to do his bidding for him, making it sound as if he was inundated with threats when it came from 10 Twitter burners. |

Completely unimpressed with Kuemper, way better than Husso though.

Akim Aliu tweets that Kadri is being inundated with threats without any context. media moves forward with narrative, hockey world goes to social claiming the entire STL fanbase is racist and making threats. The comments are reprehensible, but the medias fanning of the flames is over the top here. |

I always just assumed he was Canadian. He sure sounds like it. And anytime Maple Leaf fans have an unhealthy fascination with a mouth-breathing grinder, you can typically assume that person is Canadian and be right 90% of the time.
Can I still think he's a ****stick? Because he's a ****stick. Pretty incredible that a dude with so little skill that he couldn't manage to avoid plowing into a goalie managed to score 3 goals, though. Makes sense I guess. Ryan Reeves and Tony Twist were always putting up post-season hattys. |

I could watch shit like this all day. Twist and Probert had some epic wars.

And yes, you can think he's a ****stick. I'm kind of leaning into the rivalry at this point - it makes the sport more interesting. I still think Blues fans are largely being irrational about THIS year, but it's obvious it's as much about last year even if this year's incident triggered it. |
Last one. You know you're a badass when you can fill a 2-hour video with just your fights

Deadspin + Blackhawks fan = true trash piece
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Craig Berube and the St. Louis Blues can’t even bring themselves to say racists are bad <a href="https://t.co/k9NHn4Acxj">https://t.co/k9NHn4Acxj</a> <a href="https://t.co/qw1MOi5wER">pic.twitter.com/qw1MOi5wER</a></p>— Deadspin (@Deadspin) <a href="https://twitter.com/Deadspin/status/1529167735887843330?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">May 24, 2022</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script> |
yeah, like I'm giving Deadspin a click.
**** those guys. |
For what it's worth, here's what Bednar had to say about it. Someone asked him if Berube should have said something. He said no and explained:

Not last year, when Avs fans said some vile shit to Ryan Reaves during/after their playoff matchup. I don't recall anyone expecting the Avs organization to make a statement denouncing those comments. I'm actually having a hard time thinking of any instance of a team being pressured to comment on the actions of a private citizen, though there probably have been. |
I think (hope) that some of the Kadri stuff will simmer down in the next game. For the Blues, they're gonna have to be more focused if they want to keep the series alive. For the Avs, they're just ready to be done so they can take a few days off. And for the media, is there really much more that can be said?
I'm definitely ready to stop talking about Kadri and start focusing on the actual game. |
Quote:
Sadly, his comment isn't getting amplified because it's easier to just keep fanning the flames. |
The best lesson from all this is to stay off Twitter.

I don't think anyone here is super hung up on the Berube thing, but since we talked about it earlier:

Avs in front early.
Let's Gooooooooo! |
Avs look like they're on a mission early.
|
Lehkonen, Cogliano, and Aube-Kubel are grinders. Avs forecheck game has gone way up with those guys. We've needed guys like that.
Husso standing on his head tonight, Kuemper not far behind. |
Chest bump that shit into the goal. LOL
|
Apparently we're cashing in our bad puck luck tokens tonight.
|
I know Blues fans are pretty down on Husso, but he's made some great saves.
|
Yes he has. Definitely a drop off from Bennington. But still solid for what the Avs have thrown at him for the series.
|
Kadri taking a stick to the face = best moment of the game
