Love this signing. I wish it was for more than one year. I’m not counting on Gordon being a factor but if a full offseason and camp gets him able to be a contributor then look out. I am not counting on him though and would draft a WR fairly early.
|
I know people hate to hear it, but if we can get Sammy Watkins for cheap and shelve him for much of the year we’d have a tremendous WRs corp. Pick him up and draft a young gun, knowing that Reid’s offense will take some time to get down.

That would give us 4 impact players at the position. Hardman was much better at the end of the season, even if he isn’t exactly what we want in a WR. Grab a RB in the mid rounds and maybe a RT somewhat early. The offense will be damn good. Maybe the best total cast Mahomes has had so far. |

also have Gordon.
Just saying if he can get back to what he once was. |
The empty sets with Reek, Kelce, Hardman and Juju are going to be so sexy.
Contract year Juju and contract year Hardman are excellent chess pieces when teams try to take away Kelce and Reek. |

Justin Reid, by all accounts, isn’t just replacing Tyrann as our top safety. He’s also a leader.
And to be honest, he might be better in that role, as he’s not prone to emotional outbursts like Tyrann. |
Tyrann was a little bit of a drama Queen and distraction last season.
And where was he in the playoffs? Love the dude, but glad we are paying him for what he was |
I didn't mind him being a drama queen I minded him making business decisions in regards to tackling which as it turns out is a pretty key aspect of a good defensive player in the NFL

This dude is going to be so good in this offense.
And he'll make Hardman better when he's blocking on these plays.

Juju was put in too limited a role in Pittsburgh, playing primarily from the slot and on shorter-hitting throws

But he produced on those plays bc the speed he can build up in the open field combined w/ his size. Interesting speculation. Burt Vartch is just ****ing the salary cap at this point. |

If you look at the FA signings so far, Veach is the only GM that has somehow managed to get great deals for the franchise, this early. Almost every other GM has overpaid. Jags are the worst. |
Building your team from free agents is the game of overpaying.
I mean, the Jags paid Christian Kirk 72 million ****ing dollars. Christian Kirk!! Dude never has never reached 900 yards in a season |
How is it possible that Christian Kirk is simultaneously one of the most underrated and overpaid players in football?
I guess it’s proof that all it takes is one GM to fall in love with you. |

Only $3 million base salary, so that's his cap hit right?

I totally forgot Big Ben was hurt an entire season and his QB was Mason Rudolph and Duck Hodges who is now playing in the CFL LMAO
So bottom tier QB for a year then Big Ben being washed for 2. Damn. Only bad thing is we didn’t get this guy for a longer contract bc he’s going to break out IMO |

If this is true, it means Brett Veach got JuJu for half the cap hit this year of what the Bears are paying Byron Pringle.
There is no misspelling of his name extreme enough to indicate how great that is. |

I’ve been saying it. It’s going to be epic.

Juju is nice. I've been watching his highlights. Two 97 yd tds. I cant wait to see what he does as our number 2 WR.

Bring in good players. Trust Mahomes and Reid as leaders. Brady was able to keep Antonio Brown in line long enough to win a title. Mahomes can do the same. |
For 1 year, if we sign OBJ…they would have to be one of the most entertaining group of playmakers ever.
Mahomes Hill Obj Juju Kelce I wonder what Mecoles trade value might be? |
Holy shit, they're not signing OBJ LMAO
|
We should take the opportunity to trade with Cleveland right now for Hunt. With Watson they are not going to be running nearly as much.
We might be able to steal him back for a third rounder |

For clarity, I’m not advocating signing Odell. Just pointing out that group would all be high level entertainers and as a group would be very fun to watch.

Veech is schooling other teams in the AFC West.
We will be reloaded by training camp. We are still the Champs of the AFC West. |

If we get any other receiver I wouldn’t mind Sammy. You get him for a similar type of contract as Juju and he’s your 4th receiver. A true luxury that if he got hurt and missed time wouldn’t cripple us in any way.

An empty backfield set of Hill, Kelce, JuJu, Hardman, and Watkins would be tough to cover.... At the right cap price I would be for it. |
Sammy had a cap hit of $5 million for the Ravens. I’d love to get the guy for a $3 million cap hit which can reach $5 million through incentives. Let him sit longer and I bet he’d love to come back.
It would be an enormous upgrade. Juju and Watkins>>>Pringle and Robinson |

That contract would be something John Dorsey would do. |

Now with that said, IF they don't get their guy at DE at 30 they may go CB since DE's are deep this year. IF DE,CB and WR aren't there that they like at 30 they trade down IF they can. Will be a fun draft IMHO this year. |
If Juju can give us a 76% catch rate (like he had in 2020), Pat will feed him a ton of passes and have all the trust in Juju.
Juju bet on himself to do exactly that. |
Hey JU..JU
Don't be afraid Catch the football And score a tou-uch Down And remember to slam it into the ground When you have found The sweet nectar of the endzone |
He’s going to be good, he also has decent speed and good to great hands.
|
I still think this is the most underrated signing of the entire free agency. Still only 25 years old, I firmly believe his best years are right now. The Steelers have been a dumpster fire for a while now, so I’m not surprised his production declined but if you look closely, when he was playing and Big Ben managed to get a ball to him, he produced. I’m insanely excited about this signing

Should just go ahead and trade Hardman. Seems he is just gonna cause issues and even if he doesn’t I don’t see anyway Veach gives him the contract that he will want in FA next year.
|
Don't you dare trade Hardman. His kind of speed is hard to find (actually, it wouldn't surprise me if he was the second fastest guy in the NFL.....right behind Tyreek). Plus, he's improved each year he's been here. I would not trade that kind of talent. The guy is a threat to score anytime the ball is in his hands. You go Mecole!!!
