Once again Skip picks against the Chiefs. He does it every week. How does this idiot have a job. Mahomes would have 3 rings and he would pick against us every week.

Very well. :cracks knuckles, stretches: Fact: The Chiefs were 6-2 against playoff teams in 2022 (Chargers x2, San Francisco, Tampa, Seattle, Jaguars). Fact: Despite turning the ball over 3x and operating with less than full strength WR corps, the Chiefs dragged the Jaguars defense up and down the field with ease, cruising to a two-score lead that saw the Chiefs kneeling it out within scoring range. Fact: A fan of a team that got into the playoffs by winning this version of the AFC South, one of the weakest divisions in recent history, cracking on the Chiefs' schedule is hilarious. Fact: The Chiefs and Jaguars will both look a little different from their midseason matchup. The Jags have been playing better, sure (largely by beating up on a weak slate), but so have the Chiefs. Fact: Despite offseason roster change, the Chiefs' offense is again elite, top-of-the-league. And even more varied and flexible than it has been in the past, while also creating more explosive plays. And that's the regular season version. Playoff version takes it up another notch. Fact: 48 hours from now, you'll be nothing but a memory around here. |

The Chiefs also beat the Jags. But forgetting that one is understandable. It wasn't that competitive. |

And you play the teams you play, quit making excuses. You guys will get to find out next year what it's like to play a first place schedule (something the Chiefs have been doing consistently year to year) Get that weak smack talk in while you can. We know it's all you've got and you likely won't be here come Saturday night. Your team may be coming for that throne, but sadly, you will leave empty handed. Good luck next year with that first place schedule and we'll see if your team can even manage a .500 season. |

You left out their losses included Washington, Houston, Indy, Denver, Detroit. Not exactly a Murderers Row of opponents. And his claim to beating TN 2 times would have some credibility if TN wasn't starting QB'S that were part time Starbucks associates.. :D Our losses were to the Bengals, Bills and the silly loss to Indy. |

Uh that's kinda weird to have Kollman say that. |
Quote:
It really boils down to "if the Chiefs hadn't gotten pressure, this guy was open" and "if this ball wasn't dropped" and "The Jags are really good against 2-high safety looks." I get where he's coming from, but the Chiefs comfortably blew the Jags out in that game AND had 3 turnovers and a lost onside kick taking away 4 possessions AND knelt the ball out inside Jags territory at the end of the game. You can make it a game for the Jags with 3-4 what IFs for them... or you could make it an aboslute shellacking for the Chiefs with 3-4 what IFs. It could have been 44-17 Chiefs just as easily as it could have been 28-27 Jags. Maybe even more so. |
"If the Jags were more better and Chiefs less gooder, the Jags woulda' won! I am concern."
|
Quote:
I think Kollman is way off here. I mean imagine talking about the ifs and what could've happened in that first game while ignoring the turnovers. |
Where’s Nut?!?!?!?
Let’s start the game day thread my dude!!!!! |
He should have just added "but schematics is one thing, going into Arrowhead in late January and executing is another.. and then doing so to a degree of beating Playoff Mahomes is yet another."

Another thing is, he talked about Kirk having a big day that could've been even bigger, but with McDuffie in the slot, I don't think he has the game that he had last time. |

He's basing this entire take on the fact that Kirk is going to have a big game against cover 2. He doesn't seem to understand that our best cover corner is now playing inside more. Does anybody really believe that Kirk is going to have that kind of success against McDuffie? |
Pederson is a good coach. He really understands offense and scheme.
He’ll probably catch us off guard a few times but Spags is very experienced as well |
if the looks the chiefs were giving them didn't work in the first matchup, they would have adjusted
it's one thing to say "the jags will toast this look" and another for them to actually do it until they do, not worried stupid argument |

McDuffie was lined up inside against Renfrow for most of the game. I think the Chiefs matchup much better agaisnt the Jags than the last game with him inside. Kirk is their best WR. McDuffie is our best cover corner. Sneed and Watson should have very little trouble with Jones x 2 (Zay and Marvin). |

Kirk had 9 catches for 105 yards and 2 TDs last time.
I have zero doubt that McDuffie will hold him to significantly less than that. |
Our D-Line and LBer's were getting great pressure on Sunshine in that first matchup (5 sacks, 7 TFL's and lots of pressures) and that was when we were struggling to get consistent pressure. We certainly didn't struggle THAT game. Go back and watch it. We were in Trev's grill constantly, forcing him to get rid of the ball quicker than he wanted to.
Now fast forward to the end of the season where we HAVE done a much better job of getting a consistent pass rush from our guys, and I really think the Jags and Sunshine are gonna have a tough time moving the ball on offense consistently. Yeah, I'm sure Doug will catch us a couple times on some trickeration or something, but I can't see them putting up anything more than 24 points. And on the other side of the ball, the Chiefs offense will move the ball effortlessly against the Jags D. Just like the first game. Except our offense is more multi dimensional now. More options for Pat. NO WAY, zero chance they hold us under 30 points. This game will be decided by time we get to the 4th. Just some garbage time stats for Sunshine and the Boys at that point. No worries whatsoever. |
I’m confident.

Lawrence is a streaky QB. When he is on and his receivers are not f'ing up, Jags become a tough team to slow down on offense. Chances are both of those things don't happen so the more talented Chiefs should win.
Someone put up a decent video on Lawrence's 4 interceptions in his first playoff game and 2 of them just don't happen if the receivers run the right routes and another was on an offensive lineman's block technique setting Lawrence up for failure. One of the Jags receivers is just mistake prone in his route running but sooner or later one would think he would learn or his coaches would change his route tree to lower the chances of his f ups costing the Jags. In one case, the Jags receiver clearly did a stupid elongated in cut on the ball so easy for Charger defender to undercut him and get a pick on a nicely thrown ball. On another the Jags receiver ran too far and right near a Chargers defender when he clearly should have stopped and not even put Lawrence into position to make a stupid decision. Mostly on receiver but Lawrence should still have known better. A third interception was on the offensive lineman for a missed block/wrong technique. The 4th INT was on Lawrence. One thing the Chiefs excel at and some of it is Reid and some of it is Mahomes is the receivers and line are much more likely to be doing the right things than most teams. But the further the season goes along and more playoff games a team experiences, you would think the less unforced mistakes happen. For the most part, the Chargers didn't stop the Jags at all. The Jags stopped the Jags. Chargers defense may even be worse than the Chiefs. Chiefs should win since they have great talent on offense that do not make many mistakes, but Jags may score more points than most Chiefs expect if Jags don't shoot themselves in the foot again. |
"The Jaguars definitely have the edge rushing talent to disrupt Mahomes.”
Lol wut? |

But the reality is, we've seen and heard all of this dozens of times now over the past four years. All of it. Not a lick of anything you've got is original. And just like everyone else, we won't hear from you after Saturday. You'll go back to your own fanboards and join the autopsy of 'what went wrong' and start planning to get us next year. Because it's just the way it is. I get it, I do, we waited FIFTY ****ING YEARS for this. The reality is this: We don't care about your team. It doesn't matter. There's no world in which your team can beat Kansas City if Kansas City plays well. Now, if they have one of those games where they just come out with their heads up their asses, then yeah, you've got a chance. I mean we lost to the Colts, for ****'s sake. But that's your only hope. And it's not a likely bet. Most likely, Mahomes will come out and do Mahomes things, and KC will win by two scores, and it would've been more but the game was in control so they just kind of run the clock out. And we won't hear from you again, just like the Titans fans, and the Bills fans, and the 49'ers fans, and the Patriots fans, and the Texans fans (it's true! there used to be Texans fans!) until the next time you're in front of the train. |
