With respect to the NBA specifically, I remember some trying to blame it on the BLM stuff at the time, but of course that had nothing to do with anything. Everyone was just watching less stuff during the pandemic.

My suggestion would be to go look at the ratings in 2016 and 2017 (and then the significant dropoff in 2019 when it was Warriors/Raptors instead of Warriors/LeBron).

I know that the pandemic argument was coming... but if lebron was such a draw don't you think he'd get more viewership than the lowest in the modern era. Oh, that just doesn't fit your narrative.

As for your significant drop off to the raptors/Warriors series. You do realize that one of those teams was in Canada and doesn't count toward the numbers you are referring to, right? And the drop off was only about 2 mil from Curry and Durant v lebron to Curry and 12 mins of Durant v kawhi?

It's because some have prevailing thoughts that this years GS team really isn't that good. The narrative is that they only win on years where other teams players are hurt etc etc. Well....Unless they have KD.

Thus might as well talk about something else.

Such as how Curry has changed the game.

Through only two games of the Finals, ~5 million more people have tuned in for the NBA Finals than the college basketball final.

Did I miss something? ~5 isn't close enough to 6.3 for you? FFS, man.

Wait, are we adding the 11.9 and 11.4?

That's how we're justifying NBA > CBB?

I know some older NBA players skipped college... did their fans, too?

Yes. When there are more games played then more people watch. It’s breaking news

It’s true. Game 3 needs to pull 21 million tonight to keep it even

We'll see what the next two Finals games bring before adding the 4 Elite Eight games.

Yeah, pretty clearly wanting to look as dumb as possible on purpose for some reason.
