That's the first 10 weeks. Whats your panic point? And what's a realistic possibility?

I mean doesn't 4-5 seem to be an absolute floor there?

And yeah, that's not great at all, but still lines out to a very possible 10-7 finish and a playoff spot.

Is 10-7 making the playoffs in the AFC this year?

I think they'll be fine during the season, the offense should theoretically be a juggernaut. But I don't think you can beat a mashup of the AFC QB's you're gonna have to in January without a Chris Jones led DL.

That's not to say I don't think they can win without him and should sign him to whatever, but at this point in the process, there's no calvary.

If they think Chris won't show up around the trade deadline, they could use the cap space they gained to make a trade for a DL. Not sure what's out there but it is a possibility.

So this is your claim? A legal penalty for a late hit OOB? That’s a gift?? How about Dee Ford offsides?? Probably shouldn’t have called that ticky tack bullshit them either. Amirite? Suck an aids infected cock you ****ing mouthbreathing pillow biting bitch!

You will be right if in his absence over the next 7 (?) games there isn't a single close one that we lose where the dominant narrative is "we had no pass rush and really missed Chris Jones." My point has never been that Jones can't be replaced and this team can't thrive. It has always been that being asked to replace his production with Omenihu out and without the ability to replace him with adequate resources reduces the already thin margin of error that even the best teams in the NFL have.

And that's it. That's when you can come back and tell me I was wrong and I'll eat up every last bit of it.

A deft move of the goalposts, moving from covering a 6.5 spread against the mighty Dan Campbell and his fearsome Lions, to "we must go undefeated without Jones before I'll eat crow."

Listen. It's fine. You said some dumb shit here. It happens. It's why there's no bet to ban you for a month.

Carry on.

If the AFC East and AFC North spend the season beating the shit out of each other as is being suggested, yeah.

Oh yeah, so many here are super excited about that.

I can't quite figure how some think a 2nd year De and a rookie DE plus some also rans on the DL are gonna do much for that, but weirder things have happened.

Go rewatch the AFCCG and you can see how absolutely dominate Jones was in that game. Even when he wasn't getting sacks he was blowing up plays.

Its going to be interesting to see how they play without him. A couple years ago when they moved him outside we started out historically bad on defense.

Wormley's still unsigned.

If he's sound, that deal should be made yesterday.

I don't know if it ends up happening. The north for sure I do think will, but the east.....color me skeptical.

Marcellus 09-05-2023 10:14 AM

Interesting the spread hasn't moved an iota with the probability Jones isn't playing.

They like Danna rushing inside. And really why wouldn't they? 5 sacks and 10 QB hits in 13 games last year. It's a contract year for him. Wouldn't be shocked if he gets around 7-8 sacks this year.

I get Chris isn't there but Spags and can blitz a LB to free him up I 1v1 all the same

Then how worried should we be about 4-5 as a legitimate possibility?

If the East isn't as advertised, then we should probably have a better record than 10-7 given that we play all 4 of them...

Simply Red 09-05-2023 10:20 AM

A couple things I have not seen mentioned much that I think are worth talking about or at least remembering. A good thing about having Spags is he's shown the ability to design concepts of bringing pressure from alternative positions on the field. And that brings me to my next point, the signing of Drew T will prove very very significant whether Chris Jones sits out or plays and will ultimately help Spags add a little more of the unorthodox pressure schemes to the playbook

You seem to have trouble reading AND doing math. I'll remember that potent cocktail next time you remind this board how inept of a coach Andy Reid is while pointing to his postseason losses (while at the same time ignoring the wins). You're a special, special boy.

Playoff seeding is determined by win percentage first, numbnuts
