It wasn't DPI. It was defensive holding, which it meant it had to have happened before the ball was thrown. The ref didn't throw the flag until the play was over. He either saw the defensive holding, and then waited to throw the flag five second later, or he never saw anything, and decided to throw the flag for some other reason.
