The first half was nice, but it's honestly irrelevant when you put up that shitshow.
You put up 30 yards of offense in the 2nd half and good teams are gonna beat you. |
Quote:
They didn't have a bunch of 3 and outs in the first half, effectively wearing out the opponents defense. So the Browns were fresh in the 2nd half and they stomped our anemic offense. |
Tale of 2 halves today. We never punted in the 1st half and scored or had opportunities to score every drive. 2nd half we got outcoached and out played.
|
Real QB's like Geno go down 28-6 because of long throws, and fantasy football. Spectacular performance by such a great long ball thrower and consistent great play being down by 22 points in a half.
I commend that bonehead interception he threw while typing this because long ball Geno's nuthuggers with straight football knowledge told me so. Alex Smith is ugly and taking a 2-14 team to 8-0 is something every QB does seeing how Alex is the only undefeated QB in the league. God Geno's interceptions make me look smart. |
You read it here all last week, people. The chiefs would be 8-0 no matter who they were starting at QB.
|
Alex Smith has gone backwards for the last 5 games. It's appalling

Seen how Matt Ryan, and Tom Brady have looked today? Absolutely AWFUL. Great qbs need weapons. Average, or mediocre, or above average qbs depending on your view of Alex Smith, need weapons. If it wasn't such a weapons issue to me, I would say okay you are right. The options are limited. If they weren't so limited then why are people clamoring so hard for Josh Gordon, Justin Blackmon, and Tony G? The weapons are fine right? The offense as a whole, is a fail. |

and yeah, i know that the oline isn't the best and yeah, i know we don't have beast receivers but come on, i really expect a little better than THAT early on in the season he was taking what the defense was giving him. he's been missing those lately. |
Would have liked to see how today would have played out had Alex Smith not missed on what should have been an incredibly easy TD pass to Fasano in the first half.
That's ****ing Smith in a nutshell thus far with the Chiefs; fail, punctuated with excuses. He ****ing sucks. Period. When he's running with the ball, he's at his best. When he has to rely upon his arm (like a QB), he ****ing sucks. |

Not surprised at the production to be honest. Hes not a top tier qb. Surround not top tier qbs with garbage, and you get garbage. I think the effort to upgrade the offensive talent on the Chiefs in the offseason will be telling. |
The only "garbage" potentially surrounding Smith is at TE and OL, and the team invested 1/1 to improve the latter.

Anyone else find it funny that in the offseason, people were adamant that Bowe and Avery were a nice 1-2 punch.
Now they are garbage - to perpetuate a false narrative by those who can't handle the truth about Alex Smith. |

In fairness, when Alex ****ing Smith overthrew Fasano, our QB put the defense in a great position, so at least there's that.
Right? ****ing joke, all of it. |

Avery has been open on multiple occasions and Alex will overthrow him by 5 yards. Bowe is on pace for 604 yards... just 15 more yards he had in 2009 when he played in only 11 games (with Matt Cassel). |
Quote:
Mediocre receiver. Clearly not giving effort on his routes. Strangely, though, he continues to be a beast when blocking, so apparently he loves Charles far more than he loves himself. Strange. There couldn't possibly be another explanation for why Bowe has suddenly disappeared for the first time in his pro career... |

When have I EVER EXCUSED alex smith from being mediocre? hell you took the GARBAGE out of my post. Did you not see where I myself called Alex Smith mediocre? No, of course not. Because you are a dumb **** who just loves to hear yourself speak. |
Whoa. Narcissistic much?
It was a general statement. MANY people are blaming a "lack of weapons" for Alex Smith's mediocre play. Do a search using my user name and the word "garbage" and you get back 165 results over 7+ years. How long have you been here again? Might want to take a break, you self important douchebag. |
Whats he at now, 27-5-1? I lost count

Who in this instance were you referring to with your comment about garbage, especially when I was the one pointing out about the GARBAGE that is the Chiefs wide receivers and tight ends? Hmmmm? Just own it. I run from nothing. I could give a shit care less what you have done over the 7 + years. I ignore you completely unless you are addressing me. You are a coward. And everyone is a SELF IMPORTANT douche bag. You in no way come off as being self important. You come off as being caring considerate polite, and cordial. That, was sarcasm. Eat a dick and die. |

I can totally see how I ALWAYS think that someone is talking about me, especially when they are. But feel free to get back on your knees and suck his dick some more. I don't mean to stop you. |

Can someone link me to True Fans white knighting Matt Cassel on Vikings' boards? This has to be happening. I didn't just suffer through four years of bullshit about this sack of shit for his fanbase to disappear entirely.
Is there mediocre-QB pron on the net somewhere? Is this similar to people being aroused by fuzzies? |
Quote:
Why is that? Because you always come stick your stupid nose in where it doesn't belong. You piggy back on someone else who has started in on me. I respond to people when they talk to me. Havent you ever noticed that's usually how a forum works? Just notice how often I address you first. You wont have to wait long. Because I don't waste my time with useless trash unless said trash addresses me. if you ever notice, I usually respond to people how they approach me, so there in lies the hostility. you are a douche bag dick sucking parasite, and I address you as such. |

There isn't a person on this forum who absolves alex smith from blame for how putrid the offense is. No one. But, apparently its illegal on this forum to say, Alex Smith was mediocre, as was the rest of the offense. That always turns in to people White Knighting Alex Smith. I don't get it. Well I do. Its called simplistic thinking. I just don't have that problem. |

Alex Smith playing better could fix a lot of the issues. But, that doesn't mean that the other parts don't need to be fixed. I know that Alex Smith will never and cant be elite. its not in him. I also can see that the rest of the offense needs to be upgraded, or step up.... |
How much is this forum going to improve the day they move on from this stopgap piece of shit?
Don't know why you guys keep engaging them, though. Iggy is a great thing. |

And this is his assessment of Alex Smith. This is when you have to look around the room and decide if you might be on the wrong side in this "debate." Quotation marks because I don't think it's arguable to say that Smith is an average-at-best QB. |
Didn't Reid always want to get Alex? After watching 8 games I am not sure what that reason is. Philly's O was very good under Reid. So I am hoping he will hold Alex to higher expectations.
|
8-0
|
How? How are we bashing him after this week? One of his best games all year, and he still gets trashed. It is not his fault he got sacked six times. However, he is responsible for the 102 passer rating today and multiple running 3rd down conversions. 8-0.

Quote:
When I watch our offense, what sticks out to me is not Alex Smith's performances, either good or bad, but a shitty O-line. This is not 2010's O-line where JC was averaging 6.4 yards per carry. Alex Smith surely is not a HOF QB, but I think most if not all QBs would struggle behind this O-line. |
Quote:
Still does nothing to help Alex Smith, who has missed multiple open guys for big plays this. Fasano and Avery today, Charles last week, etc. According to Mike Mayock, NFL QBs make those throws every single time ... |
Quote:

My problem with Alex is he's a smarter version of Matt Cassel. Guy takes ZERO shots past 5 yards unless the guy is clearly open

I understood the scrutiny that Smith received from Niners fans, being that two of the best QB's to ever play the game were 49ers. But Chiefs fans? Come on guys, a lot of you are acting like the fat, ugly chick who has a hot friend so she thinks she's entitled to the same type of men that her friend gets. Smith needs to get WAY better, so does the OL, so do the WR's and TE's. But for now, the team is 8-0 and Smith is playing efficient, smart football. Doing enough to win. This is a pretty f***ing good start considering how brutally bad things were last season. |

After last week's play by the Jets, there was a headline story: Geno Smith: the next Steve Young. Fast forward to his play this week. People, including the media, are way to prone to being reactionary second to second and end up making silly and uninformed statements and assertions. |

It has nothing to do with past franchise success. The bottom line is, with the defense Kansas City has this year, if they had a real quarterback, they'd be Super Bowl bound. That's why Chiefs fans are frustrated with Alice. |
I don't even give a shit about the missed TDs. That happens. I expect it from Alex, since he's far below elite.
But to go an entire half and generate 30 yards of offense....what is this, 2008? That's Tyler Thigpen bullshit. |
