Diallo 7 minutes. Bragg 9 minutes. Landen Lucas 24 minutes.

KU shot 6 of 14 from 3, even with some bad ones by Svi and Graham. Still 43%. Still 3rd in the country in 3FG. Might want to shoot more of them.....especially when Greene comes back. But, fools gold and stuff

Self took Bragg & Diallo out indefinitely once it got close in the 2nd half. He got scared. He's got to get over that and trust his players & how hes coached them, regardless of their experience

Minutes Played:

Perry- 27
Lucas- 24
Jamari- 10
Bragg- 9
Diallo- 7
Hunter- 2

WTF

Yes that was painful to watch

Self: I thought we played better than the score indicates. I think Harvard's good. They've got a nice team.

Is Self feeling ok?

Bill Self: "The biggest thing is we just got to get our key players to play at a little higher level."

He's talking about Traylor and Lucas isn't he? I'm kidding but sadly it's probably true. Lol

Harvard has 2 wins. Theyve lost to bad teams. They got beat by Holy Cross and Northeastern. KU made them look good. Self needs to spread the floor more with this group. Embrace what your personnel is good at. Dont pull the Chip Kelly & be so arrogant that your system will just succeed

He started drinking heavily after the game?

Harvard played the best game in their program's history.

Oh Bill...

Quote:

''He's by far our best big,'' Kansas coach Bill Self said of Lucas. ''He defended (Zena Edosomwan) great. And (he's) a terrific player. (Lucas) was by far the only big guy we had who could guard him one-on-one.''

Wayne Selden Jr. of the Jayhawks is shooting 62.9 percent (22 of 35) from behind the arc. That ranks him No. 7 nationally

Okay, that was definitely not the best game harvard has ever played. KU looked lazy and unprepared. And Bill's hard on for Lucas really worries me. I knew he liked him, but come on. Saying he's our best big is so troublesome.

I seriously doubt Bill thinks Lucas is his best big. It's more of him sending a message to the other guys to step up. I wouldn't buy to much into him not playing the freshman in a close game. He'll allow them to play through their mistakes in games before conference season gets here. I hope anyway.

Lucas tries so much harder in practice so he gets to play 4X as much as the most talented players in the country? This isn't high school. We are not going to attract top ten talent if their only year here they ride the bench while inferior talent plays in front of them.

That's Bill, he's always been like this.

It's why he generally better off with lesser talent that stays 4 years than uber 1 and dones. He just doesn't know what to do with them.

Bill sometimes overvalues certain players. He's old school, doesn't mean he's not a great coach, because he is. But he has some flaws. Earlier in the year many of us were complaining that he doesn't play Michelson enough. Michelson played great in Korea, and actually played well last year in his limited minutes. Bragg was just too young and they needed bodies.

Last year, what two players did people complain about not getting enough minutes? Unequivocally it was Cliff Alexander (you know, the guy who's in the NBA now) and Michelson. Both lead the team in PER by minute.

It's not in our imagination. Jamari Traylor and Landen Lucas SHOULD be filler minutes fodder. Guys that spell breathers, when we are in foul trouble, getting 5-14 minutes a game. I think this is why we peak in the middle of conference time, whereas many other teams peak at the end of the year because they've trusted their talent.
