We were open the next day. Yes, there was emotion at the time, but almost immediately there was a measure of relief when we were told by her mom that she'd been stabilized. And these are freakin' college girls who are in a mail room, not grown men who are used to seeing significant injury on the field. Yes, you CAN equate this to another type of business - if anything it's MORE shocking in an office environment. Stop infantilizing these guys. |

Seriously,
What a complete mockery of the NFL. Hell NHL had a dude slice his throat open on a skate and it wasn't this stupid. |
I don't understand (well I kind of do) why doesn't the NFL have some kind of contingency plan for if a game can't be completed? Like not just if there's an injury like Hamlin suffered but like an unforecast natural disaster or some kind of emergency? For instance say a lightning strike hits arrowhead in the middle of a game and for some reason makes it unsafe to complete the game but it happens on the Sunday before a Thursday game, do they have a plan for that? I know they don't want to like plan around a player dying but like a coach having a stroke or a heart attack? My dad was 59 when he had a stroke, there's lots of coaches around that age, there's gotta be some kind of plan for that right?

The game should have been played today. Essentially at this point they are banking on being able to feel good and relieved that he is making a full recovery. Otherwise they would be fine accepting it’s going to take time for him to recover completely and that his long term prognosis remains up in the air. As it is, they seem to be approaching this in a way that if there isn’t great news soon they are holding themselves hostage. Well what if there is long term brain damage? They just going to suddenly be fine with that?
