Then keep him off the roster with the two week exemption and continue to not pay him and collect the cap space to carry over next year. Then franchise his dumbass for $25 million and ship him to the highest bidder and forget he ever existed.

Chris clearly has other priorities that come before winning, so he can go fulfill those needs elsewhere just like Tyreek.

This may be the way.

I'm not even remotely close to thinking this...

The guy is looking for his last big payday, he’s been a total beast for us and we’ve won two rings, don’t blame him for trying to get all he can get. Football is a business for the players too, not just the teams. Hopefully they meet in the middle soon

Good to see Melendez surging

He needs to get his payday from football because his commercials suck.

It would be great if he could get us double digit sacks.

BossChief 09-05-2023 07:48 PM

I love the Vita Vea idea, too. I’d love to see what he could do under Cullen.

The negative of not having Jones will be positively counterbalanced by not having Frank Clark (****ing sucks)

No one is upset he is trying to get paid but sitting out games and accumulating those fines doesn't make much sense to me.

There are a ton of people upset that he's trying to get paid. Just look at this thread.

I mean, well, I think it's mostly the way he is going about things more so than him trying to get paid. Tweeting 'Chief for Life' then doing this shows how he tries to manipulate fans and probably his teammates as well.

He's free to try to get paid here w what he wants and Chiefs are free to say no. Goes both ways.

He can sit out all year for I care.

No. He should get a new deal and we offered a fair one. He's being unreasonable.

It's less that he's trying to get paid and more how he's going about it. I think he's being unreasonable, but I also believe he has a right to be unreasonable. What I don't think he has a right to do is refuse to honor his contract. To me this is different from holding out on a franchise tag, or even a 5th year option, because the terms of those are externally imposed. This is a contract whose terms were negotiated by his representatives and agreed to by him. It's not an unfair deal, and he's not even particularly underpaid. He wants more money? Fine. He can fulfill his obligations and go get it next year.

Also, secondarily, he doesn't have a right to have the stooge Mike Florio try and gaslight everyone into believing his demands are more reasonable than they are. Honestly I'd respect him more if he just came out and said he wanted Aaron Donald money.
