These contracts (Sneed, Jones, Bolton, Trey and Creed) and a rework of Mahomes contract in the next 2 years needs to get done. There is no way we can sign them all. We are going to lose at least one. We shouldn't lose a second for DHop, especially at these rates.

Paying a 34 year old WR $15 milllion could keep us from signing another.

Want to win another next year. That’s what matters now, not future contracts.

I'm guessing the player in this hypothetical story would have been Willie Gay. I just don't see him or Tranquill coming back after this year. Bolton will get his money and Chenal will be the other LBer.

Be nice to have DHop for a year or two though. Lotta teams seem to be dropping out of the sweepstakes already.

Given the Cardinals should have done a deal for a third pick alone the player would have to have been the worse contract on the team to be remotely believable. Would not put Gay in that box.

Houston is apparently not interested.

That leaves Patriots, Browns, or Chiefs as the only destinations unless he can shop himself around and find some interest elsewhere.

Seems like an easy choice to me.

The fact that someone floated the Texans as interested to help with bargaining tells me that the ring chasing is not what he is about and we are most likely out.

No one that has money right now is going to pay it for a WR.

He either takes an incentive laden deal or he doesn't at this point.

This other than he is 30 and wants more than what OBJ got.

He is gonna go to the team that pays him the most. He is not going to let his desire to play for a certain QB or win a ring, affect his chance for more money. He's a "Me First" Superstar. Nothing wrong with that, but it might not fit on an a championship team wth an established formula for winning.

Not taking the money is rarer than a Lions SB victory. He is 31 on the 6th. 6/6/1992, 6am or pm would be bad

IMO, if he signs with a "surprise" team, it will be Detroit.

Saying you're out is basically saying lower your price. Doubt it'll be the Chiefs, but the longer it plays out the better indication he's considering a one year deal.

Detroit has said nah.

When a guy like this has to "start taking visits", it's time for a cheap 1 year deal.

O.city 06-02-2023 08:43 AM

Any FA available right now is taking incentive laden 1 year deals at best, vet min deals at worst.

Their best bets now are to hold out til TC for an injury to make someone desperate.

Due diligence isn’t a thing even for “a guy like that”?

He’s been a FA for 38 seconds, apples to oranges.
