1 CB down, 1 CB to go
either at #15 or a June 1. We need someone that is at least servicable to replace Bartee and McCleon. Hopefully this doesn't end the CB pursuits.
|
I think Bartee or McCleon could both play nickel effectively. Moreso than a rookie anyway.
Can we really afford ANOTHER free agent? |
I agree that we should still keep our eyes open for another CB. If we can't get one that can play right away (meaning a 1st or 2nd rounder, or veteran) we should be okay, but I'd feel better if if we found another one still.
|
At 15, we need a LB or WR, we can get another CB in the 3rd, I hope we can either trade up and get a solid LB, or hopefully a good WR falls to us.
|
Other than Derrick Johnson I don't really believe there are any 4-3 linebackers worth drafting in the first round. I could live with Thomas Davis but I am guessing that if we draft him it will be to actually play safety.

Beyond that, our DE rotation of Allen, Hicks, Wilkerson and Hall is pretty weak, IMO. CB/S is the least of my worries now. Not that it couldn't be better, just that it's gotten all the attention it deserves. |

when Oakland lines up with Moss, Curry and Porter, I want Surtain, Warfield and _____________ covering.
Bartee = no McCleon = no Sapp = no Harts = no We don't need a high profile FA. We need a solid nickel back. We don't seem to have one lying around. Cut Bartee, cut McCleon and infuse this team with NFL corners. |
I'd definitely like an upgrade at nickel, but if we stay put there, I want them to seriously look at Benny Sapp at that spot.

What if McNabb gets hurt? What if Peyton gets hurt? What if Ray Lewis gets hurt? What if Vick gets hurt? What if Curtis Martin gets hurt? etcetera. Not saying I wouldn't like more depth... |
