Possible Larry Johnson Holdout?
http://www.philly.com/dailynews/spor...S__Brown_.html
* The Chiefs are bracing for a training-camp holdout by running back Larry Johnson. Johnson, who has rushed for 3,539 yards and 37 touchdowns the last two seasons, has 3 years left on the deal he signed as a rookie in 2003. He is scheduled to make $1.85 million this year and $967,000 next year. The Chiefs have been talking to Johnson's agent about a new deal, but the two sides still are far apart. A club source put the odds of Johnson holding out this summer at 50-50. Johnson, who owns a home in New York with rapper Jay-Z, showed up in Kansas City Sunday for the first time since the team began its voluntary workouts last month and has worked out with his teammates the last 2 days. He has indicated that he will attend the team's postdraft minicamp in 2 weeks. |
Those Rappers and agents are such a great influence.

We need to give him more money so he can afford his own home.

TBH, we have the upper hand.
If he wants to hold out... then just let him. He will still be under contract to KC until he plays 3 more years for us or we trade him. If he wants to end his career early, then f'ing let him. We still have a pretty good RB core without LJ, though WITH him it is incredible. Bennett, assuming he can stay healthy, has been a starter in the past and has a Pro Bowl under his belt. We also have that kid we just drafted... his name escapes me at the moment. With 3 years left in his contract, he has almost ZERO barganing leverage. As it is with his current contract, he has earned more than many of us will in our lifetime. |

That's like assuming that tomorrow mornign you're going to sprout wings and fly to work... |
I'm not surprised that the two parties are still far apart on a contract when you start off asking for $80 million. I think we'll hammer it out in the end, though, and make him the highest paid RB in the league.

Wouldn't it be awesome to start the season with out Allen and Johnson?
I'm just saying.... |

Either way, he can either play for his contract amount and get his payday next year... or he can hold out and still owe us a year for a long time to come. Don't get me wrong... I want him here, but 80 mil is ludicrous. |
If I was him I would hold out as well. Herm will run his dick into the dirt agian this year, which is no surprise...
I would hold Carl to the freaking fire and make him show me the money... LJ holds all the cards and the Chiefs/Herm are desperate for any offense... LJ is all the Chiefs have. |
He has to be able to feed his family and he can't do it right now.

He doesn't have a family. |
LJ's a monster, and you can build an offense around him for the next four years.
I support giving him a huge paycheck, but not for 8 years, $80 million. 4 years, $40 million is where I'd feel good about getting it done. But that's still $10 million a year, and that's leadership numbers. LJ is not a leader on this team, and it's hard to see where the Chiefs would like to draw the line. |
his market value is 0
no has offered a trade pick not even the Dolfins |
