Job Perks are a fact of life but...
Just found this site:
http://www.copswritingcops.com/home.html It's a place where cops can go to vent about other cops who gave them tickets. For the most part I don't really have a problem with it. I mean it's common for people to get job perks. I'm a Network admin at an ISP and I get all the free web space I need, I get free digital cable tv and my Internet connection at home is faster than a residence can buy from us. On the front of that page though there is this rant: Quote:
Police giving each other 10mph though would be a perk, but 20mph? I don't know about that, I'd think that was a bit much. What do you think? |
Does you receiving perks involve breaking the law?
|
I love how cops think they are above the law, just because they are the law. Good for her.

84.9 mph? I've ever seen speed recorded in tenths before.

If I get a ticket for going 20 over, everyone should. Unless the cop is feeling particularly generous. Just because she's a cop doesn't make her special.
Most company perks don't involve breaking the law. They involve getting free stuff. |
you just "found" this site, it was posted in the other thread yesterday.
At least be honest. Now on point, it is a job perk, not officially and I don't ask for. I didn't get a new driver's license with my uniform on, I didn't carry a big ass stupid wallet so I can carry a badge next to my License, and when I've been stopped I only say, "I got carried away and didn't realize I was speeding. I have no good excuse" and gotten warnings based on that response and not my profession. I have stopped people before from neighboring departments and they'll ask for professional curtosy. I know you all will hate this answer, but because the examples I was involved in where all instances where I would give anyone a verbal warning anyway. So it is what it is. They were about 10 over and I would have given Skip a verbal warning, so I did for the officers too. Since I hate people's sense of entitlement, I too would have no problem writing this ticket we are all talking about. The officer was going way too fast, and of course should not be considered above the law. |

While there is usually an unwritten rule of "professional courtesy" between officers most of the time, there are exceptions and most guys I know extend the courtesy to: doctors, nurses, and school teachers.

nah, you can do better. |
No one is above the law. I see cops speeding all the time without lights on. Pisses me off.
