Who will be returning kicks next year?

Eddie Drummond made no friends in KC and "should" be gone next year. Never should have been here in the first place. :)

Kennison probably wont be back next year.

Webb sucked. I hated watching him kick return this year. Man... we really were spoiled by Dante and Vanover.

Do the Chiefs look around in free agency for a kick returner or do we draft one?

I don't know of anyone whom is hitting free agency that is a KR/PR and worth bringing in.

What about promoting from within and if so, who?

Sapp... perhaps pick Phin back up?

I've never been a huge fan of having a kick return specialist. Surely, if your team has any talent you should be able to find someone with enough speed and the physical tools to learn to do that without using an extra roster spot. Even Dante Hall could contribute in other ways.

Hopefully we will have some new talent at WR and DB so we'll be able to find someone.

And... it would be hard to find anyone worse.

Similar is... why do you need to have a kickoff specialist? Can't we find a kicker who is competent enough to kick the ball in two ways effectively? (Not that we've had a lot of luck finding a kicker who's even good at one of them...)

Or, a long snapper. Can't we get someone else to do it? Kendall Gammon was a fine player, not to take anything away from him, I can't remember us ever having a bad snap during his entire tenure, and that's worth something. But still.. what about the regular center?

Ty Law maybe? He's a CB.

Whoever it is they aren't on the roster right now.

Tamarick Vanover

Exactly.

Sure, he had a down year but Drummond kicked a lot of ass in the 90's. He deserves a chance to do it again.

It be cool if Fhinisee would come back, but why would he want too? All he did was do everything that was asked of him and he showed plenty of potential all for nothing. He showed quick burst, acceleration and abuility to dodge defenders. Just to be replaced by a guy who was cut by the LIONS.

An undrafted rookie free agent from UCLA (who transferred after his senior year from San Diego State)

Yep, that pretty much sucked. The worst part, Herms handling of this, made me miss Dante Hall, and I didn't think that was possible.

I would like to see Phinisee get another shot as well, but he is just sitting on the Rams practice squad, the season is over, and CeePee has yet to pick him back up, which makes me think that he probably won't. Too bad. He sure looked good returning kicks, and He is a CB who might be able to be developed. My guess is that we get someone in the draft.
