Our 2008 Starting QB

http://www.kffl.com/images/hot_sign.jpgNFL | T. Green cleared to play in 2008
Thu, 28 Feb 2008 10:14:34 -0800 Jay Glazer, of FOXSports.com, reports unrestricted free-agent QB Trent Green has been cleared to play football in 2008. During an exclusive interview with FOXSports.com, Green said he was cleared to play last week by Dr. Cantu, one of the most known neurosurgeon doctors in the country. Dr. Cantu said Green did not show any symptoms after tests taken by Cantu and said there is no reason that Green shouldn't play. Green said the reason he wants to come back is because you only have a small window of opportunity in your career and once the window closes, your career is over. Trent said his family supports his decision to return to football and said a few teams have talked to him about signing him as the No. 2 quarterback, while other teams have spoken with him about competing for the starting job. He also said he has not had any symptoms of the concussion he suffered in the 2007 season.

Bring him in!

He needs to sign a nice 1 day contract and retire a Chief. Based on recent performance and health I think its time for Green to settle into a nice TV gig.

Only if they sign Eric Hicks too
and he can handle a 4-12 season
what a MAN

Trent is obviously reeruned. His window closed the day he hitched his wagon to Carl Peterson and the window was nailed shut the day Geathers scrambled his egg two years ago. He seems a good guy but he will never be a SuperBowl winning QB.

Trent is going to become that washed up & brain-addled QB in the hospital from "Jerry Maguire".

I wish he wouldnt do this.

Think he goes to St. Louis with Al Saunders?

Do you have any idea what league minimum is for a backup in his 15th or so year in the league? Do you think there is any other job out there where you can make that much money that quickly and easily? When he speaks about windows, I don't think he's talking about some sort of fairy tale ending to his career. He's talking about earning potential.

This makes perfect sense actually

Is the money really worth his health for the future? It seemed to me that Trent was pretty smart with his money that he made to begin with, his vehicle he came to games in was a normal Ford Explorer not some pimped out ride like the rest of his teammates.

I think the potential for injury for a backup QB is significantly less than for a starter. Yes, it's possible that he could have to come in and carry a team for a whole season. In all likelihood, though, he'll never see the field during gametime and make well over a million dollars doing it.

Then he is incredibly greedy. He has already earned millions. His health has already been compromised, why risk further damage to go from 20 million in the bank to 23 million in the bank (or whatever the numbers are)?

I don't dislike the guy. Really, I don't care much at all if he plays or not but I wouldn't want him on the Chiefs again and I think it is stupid to keep doing something so dangerous when he already has generations of wealth.
