Yet another Suh draft thread...

OK, playing around with the numbers.... it looks like there is still a slight chance that we could get the #2 overall pick behind St Louis... I have to assume that they are going to go QB... which would leave Suh to us.

Now, that leaves a bit of a dilemna...

1) We obviously would have to move back to a 4-3... Suh is the kind of player you do whatvere it takes and fire whoever needs to be fired to best utilize him...

2) Our D-Line would then have the overall #3 from 2009, #5 from 2008, #2 from 2010 and #20 from 2006 picks on it...

That obviously is a hell of a lot of investment in just the d-line AND it also assumes that Tyson Jackson can play 4-3 DE AND it doesn't leave us with much pass rush from either DE... but I am willing to say that past/present coaching may have something to do with our past lack of pressure...

SOOO the question is... you just can't passs on Suh... but also how could we afford to get him at this point... are we past the point of no return?

If Suh could play NT then yes.

Hammock Parties 12-21-2009 03:04 AM

They're not switching from the 3-4.

I'd just forget Suh at this point.

SPchief 12-21-2009 03:06 AM

If Suh is there you draft him and don't question going back to the 4-3...billy don't be a dumbass

philfree 12-21-2009 03:06 AM

Flame me baby.....Suh can transcend his position and that makes him fair game for the Chiefs. Everbody is still all stuck on drafting for need....don't let some other team have Suh..... Flame me...I can take the heat on this.

No need to flame, Suh is a monster

The thing about Suh is he didn't do shit when Cosgrove and co. were the coaches. This staff is no better.

could say the same thing about your first post in this thread....If suh is available when we're up you take him and go 4-3. Why convert him to a nt?

Egoli won't go 4-3 and he'd say some bullshit about the right 53. For ****s sake the Patriots had Troy Brown play CB. They are notorious for having guys play out of there natural position.

It's my opinion. But, come on. They're not switching from the 3-4.

Good god, am I really arguing with another husker fan on wherther or not we take the best D player in the draft?

You know I love Suh but these are legit questions. Do you trust the current coaching staff will delevope him into a good player? I haven't seen proof of that. Who was the last can't miss D-tackle? He was also coached by a guy in college who knew what he was doing. The same guy who coached Suh :). To be honest the most intriguing Husker on defense is Phillip Dillard. I would like to see him on this linebacking core.
