Time For a New TV - Opinions?
 

I'm looking for a new tv. been looking at the sony, samsung and vizio in the 46" range.

I'm really leaning towards the LED-LCD models. Walmart models are about my only option since that's the only store in about 30 miles, not to mention DW works there.

Any opinions and/or input on these? Anybody have one or been around one a lot?

Get a full array LED-LCD, not an edge lit version. Additionally, look online, you can often find far better deals. Knowing your budget would be much more helpful, however.

I bought my son a small Vizio a year or so ago, and it's been fine so far. That's about the extent that I can help you.

72 inch 1080P DLP

Cheap as fuck. Nice picture. Bigger than life. You have to change a bulb every three years for $100 bucks, who cares.

whaaaat they make'em that big?

I want. You can get a nice used 72 for 8 hunski if you look. I don't care that it's not considered "special" by tech nerds. It sure as hell looks great to watch, and that is the most important thing right?

I've only seen the edge lit LCD's at Costco. The picture is amazing and the TV's a still very pricey (like $2500 for the Sony).

How do they compare to the full array? Richer? More black?
