Warren Sapp, Derrick Brooks, Ronde Barber

Glenn Dorsey, Derrick Johnson, Brandon Flowers

Ok, they aren't the same caliber of player (yet?). But I heard Holthus mention this today. The way these three are playing so far this year, it has to make you think we have what could be a very good core of a good defense. Nice thought.

FWIW, I think DJ and Flowers are playing at a pro bowl level, and if Dorsey keeps at it he could be in the discussion.

Considering that was a 4-3 Tampa 2 why would he even make that comparison?

Deberg_1990 09-23-2010 08:13 PM

and Cassel = Trent Dilfer?

Yeah, not really a good comparsion.

Sometimes, I wonder WTF is Mitch smoking.

Charles is Warrick Dunn!

Bowe is Keyshawn Johnson!

I loath Mitch Holthus. Completely unlistenable outside of a Chiefs broadcast.

Those three players could be huge, though.

DJ is finally playing the way we though he could. I think having a DC in Romeo has helped him tremendously. We have to keep in mind that this is the first time DJ has had a DC that actually knows WTF he was doing. He maybe had a chance under Gunther had Herm not insisted on cover 2 all the ****ing time.

We should talk about some of the hilarious things Mitch Holthus has said over the years...I'll start.

Talking about using the Chiefs top 5 pick...on Limas Sweed because that would really set the offense off.

Donnie Edwards is faster and smarter and is going to win us some ball games this year (second tour of duty with the chiefs)

Have you heard his little radio show? It is the worst thing I've ever heard. I don't even like listening to him call games now because he's so annoying. When LJ left, I was glad that I never had to hear Mitch call him the centaur again. Now, it's "they put the hammer down".

Probably for the same reason people will talk about having the "big 3" on offense, regardless of their system.

Holtus works for the Chiefs. His job is to promote the team with lots of hypebole.

I think that is a little more reasonable than comparing a push rushing DT to a 3-4 end, a roaming Tampa 2 cover backer to an inside 3-4 backer and the CB comparison you can make that one.

I get that but you can do it without sounding completely stupid.

Holthus is so full of crap, he really should just stick to calling the games instead of trying to be some kind of football analyst.

me thinks he has delusions of ESPN or something.
