New Sports Authority Sign At Stadium Missing Something
http://www.thedenverchannel.com/news...88/detail.html
LMAO DENVER -- Some Denver Broncos fans are upset about a new sign at Sports Authority Field at Mile High Stadium in Denver. The sign says "Sports Authority Field," but is missing the "at Mile High," which is the stadium's new name. It was changed earlier this month when Sports Authority agreed to buy the naming rights and Invesco gave them up. Broncos fans on Twitter also don't like the color. One said it looks more the Kansas City Chief's red than Broncos orange. Another said, "What disrespect from @SportsAuthField and its designers!" One fan complained about the quality of the sign. "Good to see we've dropped the big bucks on a full color banner. That's like $100 at Kinkos," said a fan on Twitter. Sports Authority Field tweeted that they like the new signs, "Signage has started to go up in the bowl. Lookin' pretty sharp." Sports Authority says the new sign is temporary, until the new sign, which includes "at Mile High" in installed in a week or two. http://www.thedenverchannel.com/2011...08_640X480.jpg |
Awesome.
|
Elway probably got paid under the table to eliminate the "at Mile High" part. But he's still nominally working at the league minimum for GMs.
|
Pat Bowlen likely forgot to mention the Mile High part to them.
|
Or that he was Pat Bowlen
|
Well. Can't have mistakes. Gonna have to tear the stadium down now.
I'll help. |

Heh. I guess the new sign will be Broncos orange after all.
http://www.denverpost.com/news/ci_18793021 A Twitter posting by Sports Authority Field at Mile High late Tuesday afternoon promised travelers on Interstate 25, "You might notice something a little different on your drive home today." Many did as they cruised past the new sign on the newly renamed football stadium. The sign appears to be an off shade of the Denver Broncos' burnt orange — something closer to Kansas City Chiefs red, callers to radio sports talk shows said. Moreover, it lacked prominent display of the sacred subtitle "At Mile High," a tribute to the beloved Mile High Stadium, the Broncos' venerable home until 2000. Soon after the picture was posted, four users complained on the site. A Twitter user posted, "At Mile High. At Mile HIGH. . ." Chill, Bronomaniacs. The sign is just a temporary "banner" that holds a place until the permanent sign goes up in the next week or two, a representative for Sports Authority said Tuesday afternoon. The new sign will include "At Mile High" and match the color of Bronco uniforms, according to the company. Englewood-based Sports Authority made a deal to take over the naming rights for at least the next decade, with an option to renew. Sports Authority will pay an average of $6 million a year. |
It only pays $6 million per year to own the naming rights to a stadium?

They can't even get a sign right. Oh, how the mighty have fallen.
|
They might as well leave it Chiefs red, cause we are going to own them this year. :thumb:

It's amazing the things that put people in a tizzy.
