Bears Announce Brian Urlacher Will Not Be Back

"The Brian Urlacher era is over in Chicago.

Urlacher, one of the best and most popular players the Bears have ever had, will not return to the team, it was announced on Wednesday.

We were unable to reach an agreement with Brian and both sides have decided to move forward,” Bears General Manager Phil Emery said in a statement. “Brian has been an elite player in our league for over a decade. He showed great leadership and helped develop a winning culture over his time with the Bears. We appreciate all he has given our team, on and off the field. Brian will always be welcome as a member of the Bears.”

Any takers???

I know one team that could use some defensive help.

we do need help at linebacker but i'm just not sure he has anything left.

Same for Ed Reed at safety ... great name, not much play left.

Saints need help too but like you not sure what he has left in the tank.

Someone will pick him up though.

I've said for awhile he was overrated at this point. He was playing on one leg last season.
I'd say he is done. Praying Dorsey doesn't want him.

No. Thanks.

He's lost his burst

Good fit would be the Ravens just to fill in for the guy who murdered his way to his second Super Bowl. Ray Lewis was at his tail end and if Ulacher can give one good year for them and they draft this year that spot they could just have themselves another run.

The main problem with Brian and Reed is the amount of money they feel they're worth. If we could get both at a good price, anyone who says no would be an idiot. They both are excellent leaders, that can still play at a solid level, and since I feel we are in a "win now" mindset with this new regime, I could see how either one would work out.

I like Urlacher. He plays the game hard, but has fun doing it. Great example to lead. Only problem is he admits since his knee injury he's not the same and won't ever be.

He can barely move. His instincts and leadership are up there, but the guy's stiffer than a 45-year-old virgin.

NFLN is reporting right now Ed Reed is going to sign with Houston.

I'd have to see that to believe it.

Houston is too cheap but hey who knows.

I was hoping the Saints would pick him up.
