SB food dilemma...which cheese?

So we plan to serve 3PO dogs (three pork option: for us it's bacon, hot dog, pulled pork) and need to find a "melty" yet appropriate cheese to serve with the dog. It doesn't have to be super runny like dip and also don't want cheese whiz.

Plan is dog on bun, melty cheese X, pulled pork, then your choice of toppings.

I'll need to buy this by 10 pm tonight for tomorrow...

I'm not usually a huge fan but I think this is one time a dish calls for Provel.

Queso sounds good.

Chiefs42 02-01-2014 11:23 AM

I'd go with shredded pepperjack.

White queso and chorizo

htismaqe 02-01-2014 12:11 PM

Queso blanco or queso fresco. Quite melty without using something made with vegetable oil...

chiefzilla1501 02-01-2014 12:17 PM

Have you experimented with fromunda cheese?

greatgooglymoogly 02-01-2014 12:17 PM

I'll join the choir and say queso blanco. I can't imagine Velveeta on anything, although I use it in dips.

58-4ever 02-01-2014 12:33 PM

Good 'ole Velveeta.

BucEyedPea 02-01-2014 03:23 PM

Velveeta isn't really cheese. It's just a cheese product.

Asiago is too italian for dogs and Queso is Mexican but does melt well and can work on a dog. Almost picked Queso, but went with Colby, even if it's used more cold or grated, but because it goes with an American dog.
