Midway through the season, who is the best team in the NFL?

At the end of week 8, here are the playoff standings. 19 teams either have a winning record or are in a playoff position. And that doesn't include a couple others that are within a game of a playoff spot.

1 Denver 6-1
2 New England 6-2

3 Cincinnati 4-2-1
6 Buffalo 5-3

4 Indianapolis 5-3
5 San Diego 5-3

Baltimore 5-3
Pittsburgh 5-3
Kansas City 4-3
Miami 4-3
Cleveland 4-3

---

1 Arizona 6-1
2 Detroit 6-2

3 Dallas 6-2
6 Green Bay 5-3

4 Carolina 3-4-1
5 Philadelphia 5-2

San Fran 4-3
Seattle 4-3

I really like what Zona is doing, but I gotta give it to the Donks.

Manning is in HOF form right now, and that defense looks like the best in the AFC.

Broncos.

Hammock Parties 10-27-2014 10:45 PM

The Steelers.

I'm telling you, they are back.

The win over the Colts wasn't an accident.

I see a Steelers-Broncos AFCC, with Big Ben being just a bit better than old fart Manning at that point.

Steel men are coming.

****in donks.

**** the donks.

Why, in this hypothetical, does San Diego get in over us with an identical record?

We have the tie breaker.

They have a better record.

The Chargers currently have a 5-3 record. We have a 4-3 record. You may need to look up the definition of identical. Those are the playoff seedings as they stand right now, tiebreakers included.

I forgot they haven't had a bye week yet.

I tell you if them ****s win the Super Bowl this year I am going take a year off from watching football.

tk13 10-27-2014 10:56 PM

But yes, if you want to extrapolate... if the Chiefs win the next two weeks, they will hold a playoff spot at the conclusion of week 10 no matter what everyone else does. We'd hold the tiebreaker over SD after their bye week. We'd have beaten Buffalo to knock them below us, and Pittsburgh/Baltimore play this week, so one of them will lose.

Pablo 10-27-2014 10:57 PM

Who's going to stop them this year? That's what really blows. Seattle better get their shit together.

The Chiefs also have the best strength of victory in the AFC by a significant margin. I guess that's one advantage to losing to Tennessee.

Direckshun 10-27-2014 11:03 PM

What is strength of victory?

And how different is it than strength of schedule?

BlackOp 10-27-2014 11:06 PM

Denver has had 5 home games...and that thin air is probably the biggest advantage in the NFL. How the **** does that happen...KC had 2 out of the first 6

There is no dominant team in the NFL this season....anyone can beat anyone. Manning in crappy weather on the road...we'll see
