Eric Berry talks optimistically about staying in KC.

Really good audio of Berry talking about his contract negotiations.

This guy isn't going anywhere.

Man Eric, don't do us like that. . .

'yeah, looking back the playoffs came down to a difference of just a few points, and we need to learn that those things are important.'

Yeah bruh, if you want to win you have to score more points than the other guys.

My offense sucks balls and needs help.

Then don't be greedy and take all the cap space so something can be done to provide that help to the offense.

I've grown optimistic.

I really do think Dorsey is going to pull the Bowe/Albert 2.0 on this, and sign up Berry while tagging Poe.

FloridaMan88 02-28-2017 09:03 AM

Of course Berry isn't going anywhere.

Either the Chiefs sign him to a long term contract by tomorrow or they put the franchise tag on him and he eventually plays (i.e. in September, i.e. when the regular season begins) under the franchise tag for $13 million next season.

It is easy for Berry to say now he won't play for the franchise tag again, but no way he is passing up $13 million by sitting out next season.

Hopefully it won't come to that and he and the Chiefs will work out a long term deal.

Exactly right.. and that goes for any player on the team that is set to make eight figures per year.

I can sympathize for the guys that are playing on rookie/cheap ass contracts that deserve far more.. players that earn a mil or less per that want to secure some future for their families.

That said, guys assured to make 7+ mil per year... allegedly love their team and location.. and want to win SBs.. for them to grind out every extra dime for their own greed and egos? Yeah...

You have a lot to learn about the NFL and the players mindset.
