Would football improve without pass interference?
Assume that defensive holding rules still apply, but pass interference was just wiped off the rule book. Neither the offensive nor defensive player can get called for it any more.
How would it change the game? Would scoring go down or up or would it stay the same? Would receivers and defenders get larger or smaller? I think the game might get more interesting. You wouldn't have annoying flags getting thrown all the time, and I wouldn't mind seeing players fighting for the ball downfield. You'd end up with big, strong guys like Kelce swatting defenders away like biplanes at the Empire State Building, and then you'd have little fast guys like Tyreek breaking free against the bigger defenders that would evolve. I think it would return balance to the running game, reduce total offense, but perhaps more big plays. Thoughts? |
Pass interference should be a challenge-able thing.. and teams should have more challenges given.. and there's NO excuse for why they have to take a full 5 minutes to decide the results of such a challenge.
So.. that's my quick thoughts on the matter. |
Receivers getting tackled a few seconds before the ball got to them would get annoying pretty quick

St least change it to 15 yards and first down
Spot fouls are bullshit. |
I think there would be more penalties, ironically.... Might as well tackle someone before they can catch a 20 yard pass if yoyre only going to get holding called....
|
DBs should be allowed to carry war hammers and receivers maces. That would improve viewership.
|
I would just take consistently, idk how many times our defender's get called than immediately on our next drive Kelce gets held, grabbed, etc and no call.

15 yard penalty would be perfect & if the dpi happened anything shorter would be a spot foul. |
They couldn't gift Pitt games with out it...

If the DB has his head around, just eat your ****ing flag
|
I just want them to change the rule that a wr has the right to run through a defender to make a play on the ball. If you don't have position, you shouldn't be gifted a huge play for it. That, and start calling offensive pi as strictly as you do defensive.
