Adderall

Who's on it?

I have been on it for three months now (prescribed), and the shit has been life changing. So much more focused and motivated. I know it gets a bad rep, and is widely abused, but I think the pros outweigh the cons with this one.

What say you?

When used correctly and balanced--all good.

Tough to find that balance on a middle school student. Glad it is working for you.

I have been thinking about it but have no idea how to ask for it. I dont do drugs at all and I think just asking might make my Doc think weird things. Curious, how did you go about it?

Girlfriend's daughter is supposed to take it. I wish she would start again, we've had a cop show up at our door 4 times in the last three years for something stupid she has done...and she's only 16. When she's on it she's a great kid but she refuses to take it like she's supposed to.

It's hard on the sinuses after a while.

I have dealt with depression for about ten years. I am currently on prozac too. I just brought it up to my doctor that I was lacking energy/motivation, especially in the winter months. So we gave it a shot. It has been great. In my experience the instant release version works better than the extended release. I am currently on the extended, but will mention to my doctor about getting back on the IR.

Feels like a small dosage of coke to me. Never had a Rx for it, my best friend did while in college.

Coming down off of it is goddamn terrible, feels like that dehydration, hangover feel.

Comedown/withdraws are the worst part. Luckily I am pretty much out of work when those happen tho.

Lots of adult adhd diagnosis these days. If you drop a few low energy and lack of focus hints to your doctor, and he doesn’t pick up in it, you might see if there is a specialist in your area that prescribes

It’s a little shady and quacky and basically very similar to docs who operate “pill mills” but most towns have a doc known for weight loss and/or adult ADHD whose job is basically to prescribe adderall and other “lifestyle enhancement” drugs for patients.

Its the energy/motivation part I'm interested in. I have been a workaholic all my life. Since turning 50 I have really started slacking. Mid afternoon I could fall asleep standing up. I have started procrastinating and working shorter days. I would love to get back to my old self. I know a few guys that tried it and they sure seem to like it.

If you’re having comedowns and withdrawals from it, then you’re likely taking more than prescribed dosage (which is very common as a lot of people with and without scrips for it use it as a party aid or to pull all nighter study/work sessions).

You should have your T levels tested.

Jesus man. Prozac is downright terrible for you...really any of those SSRI drugs are bad. Especially when you become dependent on them. Rx's never cure anything, they just help manage (some) symptoms, and they're designed to turn patients into customers so you keep coming back for more.

No different than your regular ol Joe street dealer, except FDA/DEA make it legal.

I dunno what's gone on in your life to make you take those drugs or become depressed...we all have issues, but you know what snaps you out of that....eating better and exercising. Having sex will help too.

I would definitely recommend. Or provigil/modafinil. But Adderall is much cheaper, and in my opinion more effective.

Does Adderall effect your sex drive in either direction?
