Veach 2nd day Presser
He seems absolutely Giddy. They've built one heck of a D Line.

Agreed. This seems like a much more satisfying result than after day 2 last year. Veach did what he needed to do.

This makes me think he has a plan. His plan may not agree with some of the "GM"s here but I'm glad it doesn't.

Does his plan ever include obtaining a cornerback in the draft?

We will see a lot of 3 safety packers with Juan, Badger, and Sorensen/Lucas. Even Watts, that’s a HUGE upgrade over last year. I imagine our remaining picks are TE and OL |

They will both be logging snaps there |
If I remember correctly Thornhill played CB for 2 years before going to S his last year. Pretty sure one of his big plusses is ball skills and being able to play both.

I think Veach would've drafted a corner if one that he liked had fell to him in the 2nd or if he were able to trade up, but it just didn't happen. So he settled for a free safety with good coverage skills. The need to draft a replacement for Hill really limited some of Veach's flexibility last night. |

I think we're okay at corner this year. I'm worried about next year and beyond. We have Ward in 2020 and that's about it. We could be in a situation of having to do whatever necessary to get a corner in 2020 draft.

I want to see how Reaser from the AAF shows this year. With the time spent to play and develop with the AAF he might surprise. Full time practice and play for several months helps a lot more than a couple of minicamps and OTAs. Most of the coaches were fairly well known, not just old washed up no-name players.

There's a lot of blurring of lines between a S and a CB in today's NFL. I liked the Thornhill pick a lot. And who doesn't like a big guy that can do a back flip? Only Russians and North Koreans, that's who. My only question now is can he throw a TD pass to PMII? That'd have to be the highlight clip of the year.
