Peter King seems to like us

Everybody does love Mahomes

1. *KANSAS CITY CHIEFS (2018: 13-5)

Seems a little crazy with the firing of the 2017 NFL rushing champ (Kareem Hunt) six months ago and the iffy status of the NFL’s most dangerous weapon because of a child-abuse investigation (Tyreek Hill). But this is an In-Mahomes-We-Trust pick, mostly. I wonder if you could ever say that a rookie picked as low as 56—that was the draft slot of the Chiefs’ top pick, Georgia receiver-returner Mecole Hardman—would enter a season as the rookie with the most pressure to produce at a high level from opening day. With Hill facing a possible suspension to start the season, or more significant banishment, Hardman’s a huge factor for the Chiefs. I went back and watched his highlights from the 2018 national title game against Alabama, and he made a couple of prime-time plays. He took a shotgun snap at quarterback from the ‘Bama 1-yard line, play-faked to Sony Michel, and beat three defenders around the left corner for a touchdown. Then he flashed his 4.33 speed down the right sideline, beating the Alabama corner for an 80-yard TD from Jake Fromm. But is Hardman as tough and competitive as Hill? Will he strike fear into defenses? We’ll see in a tough three-week open to the KC season: at Jacksonville, at Oakland, Baltimore at home.

@ JAX, @ OAK and vs BAL is tough?

Okay then.

Eleazar 05-13-2019 11:50 AM

Now we’re really screwed

AdolfOliverBush 05-13-2019 11:56 AM

LOL Oakland and Jacksonville are dog shit, and Baltimore wont be surprising anyone with their less-than-one-dimensional offense.

Exactly

Jax May be tough because of their elite d and should have somewhat of a competent offense but other 2 should easily be wins.

Guessing he meant it was tough to open the season with 2 on the road *shrug*

The thing is with Patrick Mahomes on his current track you never pick the Chiefs to miss the playoffs. Should he continue on from last year improving he will be viewed as the new Peyton Manning.

If he starts winning Super Bowls he will move into the Patriots/Tom Brady club of "How many Super Bowls will the Chiefs win"

Patrick Mahomes give us a chance at having a Dynasty, we need him to start young with a ring. If he can pick up 1-3 before AGE 30 he will have a shot at going down as the GOAT.

Pretty sure this guy picked us to lose nearly every week last year. Now he's on our jock. GTFO!

"tough three-week open to the KC season: at Jacksonville, at Oakland, Baltimore at home." lmao...

I will be pissed if we are not 5-1 or 6-0 starting off. That’s a very favorable schedule early on.

Clyde Frog 05-13-2019 02:11 PM

I thought he retired. Guess he just left SI.

Kiimo 05-13-2019 02:12 PM

14-2. With or without Hill.

suzzer99 05-13-2019 03:16 PM

If we had the offense we started the season with last year - and a top 10 defense - we'd have like 13 blowouts until we rest our starters.

Not near as hard as the Chargers & Steelers last season.
