How (and why) the Chiefs Defense has improved

Super informative video. Basically switching up to the split safety coverage to keep a top on the offense and allows for a bunch of other coverage defenses. Pre this year we have blitzed 35% of the time. This year dropped to 24%, much more emphasis on the D Line getting home and clogging up all the pass lanes with extra pass defender. Which takes the extra defender away from the line so even more emphasis on the D line all taking up 2 gaps to allow linebackers to free access to the runner - as well as having big DB's who run support well.

I love the Chiefs, especially when they win by 30

Nice.

There are things there that you kind of miss on television, so that's good to know.

So, we're already running the Fangio concepts as part of our toolbox.

(but deserves its own thread :))

Great video. Thanks

If this did not have a thread, I'd have never noticed.
Thanks for posting, quite engaging stuff.

Great video, I especially liked the part where he said the Kansas City Chiefs will win the Super Bowl!

Seriously though, great analysis. I genuinely feel smarter after watching that.

Someone said it in another thread, but when this place moves beyond shit slinging and into actual football talk, there is often a wealth of learning opportunities.

Pretty awesome.

This is my favorite National Football League Team!

So not only did Spags get all of his rookies up to speed before the end of the season, he actually made fundamental changes to his scheme as well. And now, once again, he's produced a top-10 unit in time for the playoffs.

:clap::clap::clap::clap:
Tip of the cap, coach Spagnuolo. Once again, you've proved that you're one of the best DCs in the NFL.

No Hitchens, Sorensen & Niemann was a damn good start before the season even started.

5 coverage sacks on Burrows with the split safeties. I know Cincys line sucks but got dam that’s impressive

But what does Wallcrawler think? That's an opinion everyone would like to read!

There are two kinds of coaches.

My way or the highway, this is what we do, line up and beat us types.

Or there's the type that looks at what they have to work with and figures out a way to make it work. What can these guys do? How can we use that?

Andy is the second type, and so is Spagnuolo.
