Why do you like to argue about sports on the internet?
I can't honestly answer this question for myself.
|
I don't. I'm here for the ladies.
|
I can't anywhere else.

On the internet you can say what you always wanted to say and not get your eye dotted.

Don't really want to rehash it tonight but he affected me IRL by saying things on the internet. Plenty of people have had IRL circumstances based on shit said on the internet. That's the problem with thinking there's a difference between the internet and IRL. Every single person posting here is IRL on their end of the computer and you are IRL on your end.

I consider some people here real life friends that I have never met. I'd love to meet them and hang out with them hope to tailgate with them at Chiefs games. If they are cool with me I am cool with them I don't need to argue, but I am quick to defend Chiefs Planet from trolls such as Black Bob. I make Chiefs Planet an every day part of my life as much as I can as I love Chiefs Planet & it has enhanced my Chiefs love afair IRL. Even with out Chiefs Planet I'd be freaking out about the state of the Chiefs and proby would have broken another TV if I didn't have this outlet & be amongst folks with the same feelings.
I've had arguements from Chiefs fans I know that liked Matt Cassell a couple years ago & I'd have to walk away & under my breath wish them to die in aids fire. I wonder what they think of Matty Cassell now? |
I don't see it as arguing. I see it as educating clueless people. I'm a giver.

Because R8ers is a douchebag.

But if you can make it this far there are hope for others... |
I used to enter into football discussions a lot here. Now I mostly read the news and become even more disgusted. But when I used to, it was pretty much how I'd discuss sports IRL. For the most part I stayed away from the flaming AIDS tree stuff.

With owning and running a international company, Flying, my sons football, soccer, golf and my wife of 21 years I rarely have time to socialize with buddies.
So this is my place to grab a cold beer in the evening and chat with guys about football... I know some of you guys personally and have become extended family of the Buehlers_445's. CP is a great place to hang with a bunch of lifetards and chat sports... |

I get more insightful commentary on here than I can find elsewhere. Also, the sports news here is typically focused on what I'm interested in. The people here typically think like I do (as scary as that is). Have you ever looked at an ESPN message board or talked sports with people in real life? Most of the people are really uninformed, naive, or just plain stupid.

I think the level of football discussion to maturity level on this forum is right where it needs to be for me to get the most out of the discussions. It is nice to hang out in a place where ever now and then you can call someone a sister ****ing **** nugget and be cool with them 3 posts later in another thread.
I've learned a lot about football on here and it has come because of people challenging my line of thinking and forcing me to see it from a different perspective. CP rocks. |

It gives you a bigger group of people than you get to argue it with in real life. With that you get more deas, controversy etc etc. You all know how it is.
The best part is you get to turn them off if you are tired/bored/agitated . |

I don't. But I do enjoy reading the arguments of others from time to time.
|
Because not enough people in this world fist their grandmothers
|
I was sentences to 8 years over an argument about Raiders. I can't do 8 years for shooting my computer and catching it on fire.

It's safer than arguing about sports in bars. I've never gotten punched on the internet.

The Internet is happy with joy.

Haha great thread topic.
I ask myself that all the time. |
I really don't like to argue sports on the internet... or anything else for that matter. I'd rather share opinions, input and ideas. As it is many people want to argue and I've been drawn into it... and I'm not proud of that.
|
cause I can't constantly masturbate to porn
|
Because you get such a wide range of opinion from so many different types of people because the internet is world wide.
Opposed to the locals whom which you all may have very close opinions growing up in the same area/traditions and such. And I don't automatically argue btw. The title should have been worded discuss. |

He gives me secret messages, you know. You guys just can't decode them. |
