Eric Berry Injury Megathread

Let's post updates, reflect, and openly weep here.

EDIT: Update 2, confirmed, Berry done for the year.

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr"><a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/Chiefs?src=hash">#Chiefs</a> coach Andy Reid confirms the fears: Star safety Eric Berry is done for the season with a ruptured Achilles.</p>&mdash; Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) <a href="https://twitter.com/RapSheet/status/906203762020106240">September 8, 2017</a></blockquote>

I NEED AN UPDATE

carcosa 09-07-2017 10:10 PM

I'm so sad.

kcpasco 09-07-2017 10:10 PM

Hopefully minor

lewdog 09-07-2017 10:11 PM

I'm a trainer.

It's Achilles.

Well better luck next year I guess. We aren't winning without him.

TigeRRUppeRRcut 09-07-2017 10:12 PM

Let's pray it's an achilles strain that the MRI confirms tomorrow.

Fritz88 09-07-2017 10:12 PM

That guy literally wins games for us.

Huge blow. Huge.

Happy for the win, sad for the loss of Berry.

Didn't say it's a tear.

Honestly didn't look like a tear. Maybe a strain?

IowaHawkeyeChief 09-07-2017 10:14 PM

Pretty sure it's a tear... Next man in, unfortunately...

Seems like I never hear of one that isn't a tear. Let's hope.

CupidStunt 09-07-2017 10:15 PM

He didn't SEEM in that much pain or even discomfort. But maybe I'm just being too optimistic.

carcosa 09-07-2017 10:15 PM

He shut down Gronk tonight. Shut him all the way down. If he's done, I don't know how this defense holds up over an entire season.

It does seem to be rare.

Let's hope this is different. It just didn't give that classic pop look when it happened.

Neither did DJ last year. Just mad. Reminded me of that.

Black Bob 09-07-2017 10:16 PM

DJ and Devito had Achilles injuries. Now possibly Berry? Seems like the conditioning coach is missing something.

Chiefspants 09-07-2017 10:16 PM

DJ didn't seem to be in that much pain last year either. Just solemn resignation, much like EB's reaction tonight.

Easy 6 09-07-2017 10:18 PM

I'm conceding nothing until its official

Chiefspants 09-07-2017 10:22 PM

****ing shit

ThaVirus 09-07-2017 10:24 PM

He's had a bum heel all offseason and he came up limping. Just like DJ didn't appear to be in any pain and Kobe walked off the court, he probably tore it.

Shame, too. Houston, Peters and Berry are far and away our best defenders.

lewdog 09-07-2017 10:24 PM

Ok I change my mind.

I think it's a tear. ****.

Red Dawg 09-07-2017 10:25 PM

This is bad. He can't be replaced. Gronk did nothing.

Hydrae 09-07-2017 10:25 PM

I don't want to have to go through another season without him! :deevee:

notorious 09-07-2017 10:25 PM

I would happily give this win back for him to be healthy.

It sucks because he didn't play any preseason snaps and then played like 70 tonight

some butt-****ing moronic chiefs fans want to get rid of Peters. Seriously.

Buehler445 09-07-2017 10:26 PM

They didn't cart him off like DJ and Devito. Hopefully it's something besides a rupture.

EB really didn't look too worried at first and he did flex his left ankle/calf without showing any pain or discomfort. Murray will have to step up in the meantime.

I don't remember the replay, but if your saying he flexed his calf on his own then that means he didn't tear his achillies. If it was torn, he wouldn't be able to do that period

He was rotating his ankle all over the place. I don't know if that means anything.

I could have sworn that the feed I was watching that stayed live during commercial breaks caught a shot of him messaging his leg with some kind of device.

Doubting myself though.
