Saving him for the playoffs next year. He’s way to valuable for odd year playoffs.
|
well we all knew EB wasn't going play (damnit).
having sammy out there (please be okay, please be okay, please be okay) gives us that extra option that we need. gooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo chiefs!! |
Hopefully he'll last the entire game.

So what quarter does Watkins leave the game?
1st 2nd 3rd 4th ? |
Please be healthy enough to play the whole game, Sammy! WE NEED YOU!

no berry? man what a joke.

I was hoping Watkins would be at least Probable, sounds like this issue won't go away but probably get worse until offseason surgery.
|
Took 6 posts before it was mentioned. Nice wait aids bucket.
|
DaFace, is there no way to block seeing quoted posts from people on your ignore list? I'm adding to my list more often these days, but people endlessly quote these idiots.
I'll pay to get this done. |

I’ve just written Berry off in my own mind. Anything we ever get from him is a bonus. No Berry=the baseline.
Watkins coming back is big news. He takes the offense to another level. |

So all this talk about saving BDB for the playoffs was just what? Message board fodder?
Seriously disappointed in BDB. His legacy as small as it was here in KC is seriously tarnished forever. |

yep. Watkins playing opens up our offense wide open |
So good to see Watkins in the mix. Hope he's good to go all game! :thumb:

Bro, **** eric berry.
|
Watkins spirit > uric's spirit
|
Sammy will limp around for two plays and then sit.

First time with Watkins and Benjamin active together. No Benjamin hasn’t lit it up with numbers but him being the 4th or 5th option for Patrick, even as a decoy will help stress their D with that much pure talent out there. There’s no tape on that. Just an interesting thought/wrinkle.
|
We need Watkins way more than we need Berry. Hope he’s as good as he was earlier in the year. **** Eruc Burry and the colts!

The nfl network reporter at arrowhead said Berry would be a "game day decision". The understanding was they would see how he is in the warmups. So I wouldn’t totally rule out Berry just yet.

Had already written off Berry this week, so for me this is nothing but great news!

You chose not to list the other part of what I said though.. |
Honestly guys the "spirit" jokes are so lame and LAST YEAR!!. It's also indicative of some folks not understanding verbage often used in the African American community. For those who couldn't fathom what Berry meant, he was pretty much saying "my gut was telling me that the Ravens game was too soon to come back", THAT'S ALL. So folks need to let it go and quit trying to mock the guy because some of these so called "grown men" are looking very childish imo.
|
Well the Berry news is not a big surprise, but I'm happy Watkins will be in there. He may play in a limited capacity, I guess we shall find out. Way to suck it up Sammy, get it done!
|
Best bet is to not worry about Berry. Chiefs should move forward without him in the game plan the rest of the season.
Get well Eric and keep that distraction over there |
|
Berry better have surgery scheduled on February 4th to get this shit taken care of, not having another season of this excuse hurting the team for the amount of money we’re investing in him.
|

I'd take Conley or Robinson over that bust any day. He's a thinner Demetrius Harris at this point, except I'm pretty sure Harris has a higher completion rate. |

A guy on twitter said that Eric turned down surgery that the team asked for him to have done because Eric was going off his own doctors advice that he could come back this year and help the team. He used that to try and defend Berry because “the surgery would have been in his best interests but he wanted to help the team”.
If true, and I’m not sure the validity, Berry ****ed KC hard because he would be 100% by the start of 2019 |
We're saving Berry for next year's Super Bowl.

Eric needs to take some serious pain meds and help us win a home playoff game

Just hope Watkins can be close to his old self. If so, look out Colts. Also, who will be starting at LG?
|
You'd better be seriously injured to be sitting for a playoff game. :shake:
|
Meh, the berry thing really doesn’t bug me anymore. I don’t think he would be a difference maker out there anyway given how little he’s played. Hope Watkins isn’t just going to be a decoy out there and is really able to play.
I’ve not seen if Ware is going to play. That’s the biggest injury issue in my view. He’s a tougher runner than Damien. He’s the one I want out there on the goal line and short yardage. Sloppy weather and field would be good to have him running hard. |
I think its a little premature to consider him out, as after the tribal council blesses the field prior to kickoff, I was under the impression they were going to bless his heel, also???

Shoot that heel up and rub some Tussin on it
|
Unless my body physically couldn't run around, there would be almost nothing that would stop me from playing in this game.

If he can play at all, he’d better ****ing do it. |
Berry is almost dead to me.. if he doesn't play this game.. just cut his ass. Damn.

Why?... |

Give him some kratom, a local, and soak that thing in ice at halftime... |

I don’t think they can cut him even with a June 1st designation. It’s just too big of a cap hit

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">The expectation is that Sammy Watkins is probably not 100 percent (who is?) but close enough to make a difference, especially in this weather. <a href="https://t.co/KPTcqmsKSb">https://t.co/KPTcqmsKSb</a></p>— Sam Mellinger (@mellinger) <a href="https://twitter.com/mellinger/status/1084117726761762816?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">January 12, 2019</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

I hear people say, but he's a field general and he directs players while on the field! If the players don't know their roles by now, we're in deep crap anyway. As I stated in another thread, his cardio is also way off and I've noticed after a few plays in a row, he's sucking wind like he just got done with a marathon. Bottom line, he either needs to get the surgery in the off season to get his foot right, or retire and quit stealing a paycheck. |
Dude **** Berry, he's been sitting for 3 weeks and he's not gonna go in the playoffs?
Off the team after this year. |
I hope we don’t have to use injured players as excuses.
|
Who gives a shit about Eric Berry's "spirit"/"pain management tolerance" whatever at this point.
The Chiefs were 0-2 when he played this season and 12-2 when he didn't play. He is no longer a factor. |
You'd think guys would deal with pain and play in these games that matter.
Who knows maybe he's not thrilled he only makes 275k for a playoff game. |
