Let's talk about the Chargers...

Chiefs can wrap up their 3rd straight AFCW title on Thursday w/ a win over the Chargers.

Phyllis typically shits his pants in Arrowhead, but their passing game presents a problem as we saw wk1. Lots of dropped passes on wide open looks. Wk1 looks a lot different if their WR's come down w/ some of those misses.

Chiefs OL gets to go up against Bosa this go around, OL will have their hands full again going up against him and Ingram. OL will need to play a lot better Thurs, than they did today.

Even though it's TNF, Arrowhead will be rockin' for another primetime game and I think Patrick Mahomes shines, and puts the team on his back. Gonna be tough though, Chiefs are banged up, and it's a short week. But it's a short week for them too, and they have to travel.

The real NFL season has just begun fellas. Go Chiefs!

BlackOp 12-09-2018 04:48 PM

I'm sure that KC's coaching staff took full advantage of that 12 bye week...it's like they has an actual week to prepare.

The officiating in this one will be..umm..."interesting". That's my only concern...1500 miles travel into a winter night game doesn't bode well for LA.

petegz28 12-09-2018 04:50 PM

**** them. Took the Refs for them to beat Cleveland, Pit and now Cinci.....

ThaVirus 12-09-2018 04:51 PM

Rivers will exploit our shit safeties, but Ford and Houston historically have good games against the Chargers. It'd be amazing if they both show out together on such a short week.. especially with Berry returning.

OrtonsPiercedTaint 12-09-2018 04:55 PM

Made AFC West CBs over rated

Hammock Parties 12-09-2018 04:57 PM

Andy Reid don't lose these games.

We got this.

As long as we have Mahomie...we got this.

We got anything.

RunKC 12-09-2018 04:58 PM

Benjamin and Berry playing will be awesome

CupidStunt 12-09-2018 05:03 PM

If we are healthy, I'm calling a comfortable win. They're real good, but at our best we're on a different level.

However, if Watkins is out, if Hill is at all gimpy, it's gonna be another close one -- like today, but more offense on both sides.

I still think people underrate Watkins' impact. They point to putting up big points on a shitty team like the Raiders as if we're the same without him. We're not - at all. He completely changes the dynamic of the team. I even think Benjamin is going to make a bigger impact than some think. Conley is a total wasteland of a receiver. Can't separate at all. Maybe KB can't either but at least he'll catch balls over guys.

Iconic 12-09-2018 05:05 PM

If this really is the 'return of Berry' game we will not lose. Simply because our guys will be mother ****ing HYPED. Even if Berry doesn't play much, when the crowd sees him put on a helmet for even a couple plays it's going to go nuts.

The energy is going to be insane at Arrowhead Thursday night and it's going to make for a great Rivers meltdown game.

2bikemike 12-09-2018 05:09 PM

I always want us to beat the Chargers. I freaking hate that team. I am worried how beat up we are with a short week. I think we eek out the win but it won't be easy by no means. I have to admit I am a little worried. But then again I was worried about today.

JakeF 12-09-2018 05:10 PM

We need to get healthy.

Sutton needs to put Houston and Ford at DE and just leave them there. We need to generate the pressure we did late against the Ravens, but all game long.

Our OT's need to have an outstanding game against Bosa and Ingram.

A lot harder for them than the Chiefs.

As always, if KC executes they win. No ifs, ands, or buts.

ChiefEd 12-09-2018 05:18 PM

Chargers look like ass today. Bengals are hanging around...

CupidStunt 12-09-2018 05:23 PM

Oh, and ALSO: more importantly, and since I haven't seen this anywhere, with a win we actually CLINCH the AFC West. Even if then lost both games and LAC won, we'd both be 12-4 with the division record tiebreaker.

The boys seem to know that, though. Mahomes broke 'em down saying "short week, let's go win the AFC West."

Yes, a win Thursday night clinches the division and a home game in the playoffs

tmax63 12-09-2018 05:26 PM

Thing about the Chargers is all the Chiefs can skip practice and work on getting healthy. Both teams know each other so well that practice is almost optional.

Might be kinda tough, this one... Bosa is back, short week

Glad its a home game

pugsnotdrugs19 12-09-2018 05:50 PM

Need Tyreek there (he says he will be)

I think we’re ready. We just passed the toughest defensive test there is and now blood is in the water as it pertains to HFA

BryanBusby 12-09-2018 06:38 PM

We're going to **** them in that behind the knee area!

pugsnotdrugs19 12-09-2018 08:55 PM

Andy said in his presser that Tyreek got his foot stepped on, or likely heel given what they reported.

That makes me feel better. Doesn’t sound like a strain type of deal.

The Franchise 12-09-2018 09:05 PM

Berry comes back just in time to shove it up the Chargers ass.

RunKC 12-09-2018 09:08 PM

Interesting note: Home team is 12-2 on TNF this season. 2 losses were the Cardinals to the Broncos and Giants to the Eagles. Both home teams were without question no match for the away team before the game started.

notorious 12-09-2018 09:10 PM

Chargers have literally been handed a couple games due to referee failures this year.

At least they have beat one team that has a winning record. Finally.

Thursday night is our AFC West coronation.

3 games to be exact. Well, they probably go on to beat Cleveland but that was the game that got the Ref fired. Then you had the Steelers game with false start #2 that went for a TD. And today where the Refs for some reason determined the QB diving for the goal line intended to give himself up at the 1 and took a TD away.

I believe the Chargers are a fine football club, and I'm looking forward to their match against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Deberg_1990 12-09-2018 10:52 PM

Predict what basic mistake will cost Phillip Rivers the game?

His box score will look spectacular, but there are always 1 or two key mistakes he makes and in big games.

I'm pretty sure he's hit his quota for the season, but you may get lucky.

Direckshun 12-09-2018 10:55 PM

This game is going to be absolute war. I don't think we have much chance of slowing Philip Rivers down, and the Chargers have some solutions against us -- a damn good pass rush and a sturdy secondary.

As always, it will come down to how much magic Mahomes can generate vs. how many stops can the defense get.

I also think both teams are just absolutely on fumes. The Chiefs just played five quarters against the Ravens and the Chargers actually played after them. Both teams could make plenty of mistakes and I expect a ton of penalties in the game.

I'm going with the Bolts, oddly enough. Something absurd like 47 to 44.

Because they will both be tired I’m guessing a lower scoring game than most people would predict.

I also think the Bolts are due since we have beat them like 20 times in a row.

We don't need anything.

We have a cushion.

If Watkins isn't 105%, he sits.

philfree 12-09-2018 11:48 PM

Eckler get injured today? If Gordon is still gimpy they may become one dimensional.

Bump 12-09-2018 11:49 PM

Chargers have a really really good defense and I believe Desmond King is the #1 rated CB in the league.

Last time their receivers dropped a lot of passes against us.

Short week too, hopefully Hill is ok and can recover in such a short week because he was out there battling today and playing through pain. This is why I'm really not a fan of Thursday night games, it shows the league has zero regard for players health.

The home field advantage on Thursday is the greatest in football. Home team wins roughly 60% of the time. Statisticians will saynthe TNF sample size is too small but the short week and travel really mess with the visiting team.

It doesn’t guarantee a victory but our odds to win are increased by this being in Thursday instead of Sunday.

BS

Bolts barely beat a bad Cincinnati team and are traveling here on a short week. They'll come out flat.

Sounds about right. Even better when you're talking about a long flight from LA to KC. I think we have a few things going for us. 1) our offense has made some huge adjustments the past few weeks that might be tougher for SD to learn about in a short week. 2) Benjamin and Berry are two players who will provide wrinkles LA will not be prepared for. They have no idea what our offense or defense will look like with these guys.

Not predicting a loss, but I don't have the warm fuzzies about a team that is playing as well as they are and with a ton of momentum who feels like they are due after 9 straight losses to us. I truly hope to be eating my words this time Thursday.

Chief Northman 12-10-2018 12:12 AM

You would think these assholes are due ...

Even if the Bolts win, I can’t see them beating both the Ravens and Broncos - they will lose one of those games. Might be better this way, as I think the Chiefs win in Seattle and at home to Oakland still getting homefield. Beating a team 3x in a season is not easy and a loss to the Bolts now would be better avenged in the Divisional round, which I think happens. Chargers will be back at Arrowhead in January....

Well, I'm no football prognosticator; all I do know is that they are only one game behind us and will have plenty of motivation to try to steal this one in Arrowhead. We will definitely have to take care of business and stay in control of our own destiny.
