Brett Veach, take a bow

McDuffie, Cook, Pacheco, Karlaftis, Williams, Watson and Skyy all made big plays for us tonight.

Just unreal. Absolutely incredible.

It was all in the grand scheme of things to not show off MVS during the season with just a few catches and drops on purpose just for him to go under radar for this very game.

smithandrew051 01-29-2023 09:41 PM

With 13.5 postseason sacks, Frank Clark is now in sole possession of 3rd place on the all time list.

Only Willie McGinest (16) and Bruce Smith (14.5) have more.

If he’s back in KC next year, he probably takes the record.

Chris Meck 01-29-2023 09:53 PM

This is why all of those early season snaps were so important.

I hope Reid and Veach discover the fountain of youth, never retire, and therefore never qualify for the Hall.

Hammock Parties 01-30-2023 11:49 AM

Last year's AFCCG:

Tyreek Hill - 7/78/1

This year's AFCCG, the net from trading him:

MVS - 6/116/1
Trent McDuffie - 6 TK/2 PD
George Karlaftis - 1 sack/1 TFL
Josh Williams - 5 TK, 1 PD, 1 INT

Brett Veach won the game.

DRM08 01-30-2023 12:09 PM

Would be epic if Veach can keep crushing the Draft in the coming years. All of the other teams with QB’s younger than Mahomes are about to have a tough time building their roster when the QB gets paid.

Yep, I’d also add that this game showed EXACTLY why you don’t invest as much into Tyreek as we did into the multiple FAs that we added such that by the time we lost 3 WRs and still needed to win the game, we had one of them left to still make plays.

With very very few exceptions, several quality guys are going to make a better team than one superstar and scrubs. I know this isn’t the re-sign Jones thread, but Veach’s future decision on him is another major test.

Wisconsin_Chief 01-30-2023 03:54 PM

Finding NFL ready players who can come in and contribute from day one on these 4-5 year rookie deals is how you build a dynasty. It's really not supposed to be as easy as Veach is making it look.

Oh, we've got a hole at RG? 6th rounder will get you 4 years of great guard play for pennies.

Need cornerback depth? Sure, we'll get a lockdown #1 late in the first and two guys in the 4th and 7th who will come out and play like seasoned vets in an AFC Title game, and you can have them all for next to nothing salary wise for the next 4 years.

Just lost the best WR in football? Whatever, **** you. We'll throw Marcus Kemp out there and Pat will still throw for 330 yards.

Sometimes it's still just hard to believe. I still find myself sometimes waiting for the other shoe to drop, but instead we just keep getting more pairs of shoes. :)
