Pennel is better suited as a NT in a 3-4, but even if you get 12-20 snaps out of him to keep the linebackers clean, and keep Nnadi and Saunders fresh, then this ok by me. He won’t be any worse than McClain.

In our system, his job is to either stand aside or fall down. If he can do that consistently, he'll fit right in.

At this point, we want teams to try and run the ball against us.

This encourages us to play more defenders close to the line of scrimmage, which will limit the short passing game.

If they try to strike us deep, I dare say we have borderline elite safety play now.

This D has a formula if they are not giving up 5 YPC.

Pennel is terrible, there's a reason he didn't make the pats roster.

Sure hope the injury bug doesn;t hit the Pats real hard later in the year when it really hurts them, they aren't real deep.

We are deep in our defense which is why we can keep rotating our D and keep them fresh through the whole game. We have already been hit with a plethora of injuries on offense which is why we look like a steaming pile of shit right now on offense. It will be interesting to see how we play against the Browns, say what you want but Myles Garrett can wreck our O-line.

Oh sure nothing a couple hamstrings or Achilles won't take care of. Maybe a torn ACL? We've had our share, your turn.

As for the signing, I think he could be an okay run plugger. I'm not the guy that was on him in draft mocks, but I do remember us discussing him two years ago when he was a RFA with the Jets.
