You get to pick any Chief from all time in his prime to join this team. Who?
Saw this somewhere on Twitter. Looked like a fun topic.
To clarify. Player had to play for the Chiefs. Player did not need his prime to be with the Chiefs. Poll added. Player must be mentioned twice as primary answer to be eligible for poll. |
Albert Lewis
|
My initial reaction was Derrick Thomas, because it's always Derrick Thomas.
But when I think about it more, it might be Bobby Bell. Three down linebacker who's good at everything. |
Wasn't Revis Island on this team for a month or so?
|
Shields would be a good choice.
|
DT
This Defense would be nasty with DT on the other side of Clark. |
Jamaal charles
|
Dwayne Bowe never got a fair shake.
|
We had the best pass rush in the NFL last year and it didn't help.
Im going Eric Berry in his prime. Kiss my ass haters. |

James Hasty on this team would give me wood as well.

The other one is DJ. A dude his size and speed right now..... ****. |
Ty Law possibly.
Or Revis. Jamaal Charles would be a beast in this offense too |

Tony G and Kelce! |
I assume all you Bell voters mean Kendrell, right? :D
|
Anyone who actually saw Bobby Bell play wouldn't hesitate to pick him.
|
DT on D
OT on O damn, that's almost poetic. |
Don't forget Shields or Roaf.
|
I’ll probably take some heat for this, but Montana would be nice.

David Amerson

Emmitt Thomas. He was a damn good corner

JC on offense
EB on defense |

Montana in his prime or Mahomes? Who you really got? |

And not even think twice. |
Dale Carter
Christian Okoye Jamaal Charles Derrick Thomas Albert Lewis Will Shields Tony Gonzales (in addition to TK, not instead of) I know you asked for one, but that would be my short list. |

Willie Roaf

The Nigerian Nightmare.

Damn, I would take Mahomes over Montana. :hmmm:

Jamaal Charles
|
An ‘in his prime’ Jamaal Charles + Mahomes wouldn’t even be fair to the rest of the league.

BOBBY ****ING SIPPIO

Willie Lanier had speed and strength and hit a hole damn quick. He would be my first choice and I would pick one of our great DB's/CB's over the years as second choice.
Derrick Thomas in his prime was a beast against the pass and Bobby Bell was no slouch. |
Joe Delaney, we never got to see him hit his prime. ROTY in 81, helped give the Chiefs thier first winning season (9-7) since 1973 and was selected to the ProBowl. He was also responsible for the longest rushing play from scrimmage that year. He set four franchise records that would stand for more than twenty years. He had a detached retina and a strike shortened 1982 season. He was also a humanitarian, paying for a former teachers funeral but the greatest thing that Delaney did was to attempt to save 3 boys from drowning despite his inability to swim. He lost his life that day in June of '83 but his accomplishments, decency and heroism lives on to this day.

Marcus Allen on offense. Bobby Bell on defense.

Tony Gonzales. Imagine the two TE sets with him and kelce
|
Roaf. One of the best LTs ever protecting our QBs blind spot.
|
No doubt about my choice, it would have to be Mr. Willie Lanier. A 3 down MLB that could stuff the run, cover, and would hit anyone like a Mack truck. Bell, ET, OT, DT, Roaf, Cherry, Shields, and Waters would all be fine choices, but if it's just 1, give me #63.

I got Buch Buchanan second. Dude was a monster. |
I appreciate all the old guy responses, I really do. But it's just so tough to guess how they would fare in the current game. Football players are so much bigger, stronger, faster now.
|
Jovan Belcher
|
Priest Holmes
|
If KC didn't have such an amazing history of RBs I think a lot of us would be calling for Kareem Hunt.
|
Otis Taylor, DT, Charles, Gonzalez.

Actually I'm going to change my answer to Darelle Revis.

My second choice Albert Lewis not as physical but just as fast teams just didnt challenge him. |

I'm not sure that the 60's guys would translate to the modern game, especially since it's all about speed now.
So, we're taking Brady and all of the rest of these 'raised on spread'- pretenders OUT: Derrick Thomas |
Can you imagine Derrick Thomas in a pass-happy league?

Jarred Allen would do nice things
|
Leon Sandcastle
|
Bring me back DT
|
DT
|
Deron Cherry
|
Charles...a prime-time Montana would be tough to say no to...but he didn't play here long enough to earn a vote..
In two more years...this will be replaced with Mahomes. DT had a habit of disappearing in big games... Charles is one of the most naturally gifted RBs I've ever seen....also think Hill and Mahomes are in that same rarefied air....they just have to do it longer. |

I'm gonna mention someone I do not see on here: DANTE HALL!

Dale Carter so he can also keep Keitzman in line. Priest Holmes as well. :)
