In reality this sends Thompson to the PS which is where they probably wanted him all a long, it also makes Tremon Smith making the team less likely, looks like Hyde and Williams both get on the roster now.

No, they're replacing their top gunner with a dude that has already done it so they feel comfortable with him and he knows the playbook.

It's just like the Allen signing basically, they don't like the young players they have for the role.

DAT will obviously never be a star, but having a guy with his speed as like the 7th or 8th option on offense is pretty wild.

If the Chiefs really wanted to **** with a defense all they would really have to do is basically give you the base 3 WR 1 RB 1 TE with Darwin and Mecole in the formation and then go into a no huddle, you'd kill another team doing that.

I bet Thomas doesn't have over 10 touches all year. This is strictly a ST move.

Probably not he does give them another guy who can do that jet/loop motion stuff that Hill does.

Exactly, adding Thomas adds nothing to the O. He should never be on the field the same time PMII is. Over his 5 year career Thomas has 689 yards from scrimmage and 450 of those yards came in his first 2 years. He adds nothing to Offense.

So we signed 2 WRs, Tolliver and DAT?? Surely they wouldn't classify him as a RB and add to the congestion there.

He got one of the little flip crossing passes for a td in the opener against the Chargers last year, that's about the only one I can remember.

He also would’ve caught that bomb for a TD if Derwin James didn’t made a hell of a play.

I'm not sure on play count, but last year he only had 4 touches for 35 yards. Last year he rushed 1 time, 1 time the year before, 4 times the year before that. He's pretty useless offensively.

Chiefs receiver De’Anthony Thomas arrested in drug possession case

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver De’Anthony Thomas, a former standout at Crenshaw High, has been arrested on suspicion of possessing marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

The sheriff’s office in southeast Kansas’ Allen County said in a Facebook post that Thomas was booked Saturday. The 26-year-old from Lee’s Summit, Mo., has since been released on bond.

The Kansas City Star reports that a Chiefs spokesperson says the team is aware of the incident but has no comment.

Thomas finished his fifth season with the Chiefs on the injured reserve list after suffering a fracture in October in the same leg he fractured the previous season.

Thomas has 64 career receptions for 503 yards and four touchdowns.

He is set to be a free agent when the market opens in a few months.

Okay, so he will be likely suspended for the first 4 games, so it’s nice insurance if someone gets hurt.

I think you may be misunderestimating DAT's potential contribution to our Super Bowl season, Mr. dlphg9.

When you isolate his actual plays with Mahomes at QB, his FEQ (FAX Effectiveness Quotient) is pretty dadgum high. A handful of snaps led to 1 gimmick TD, 1 almost super long TD (messed up by an All Pro with a highlight PBU), not to mention a trick punt return for almost 50 yards against the Stoolers.

We'll have to disagree on this one, I guess. I see DAT as a fella who already knows the system and represents a threat ... whether he's the primary or not.

No this was back in January 28. I don’t get why they go after him again when he might get a few games suspended because of this.

Andy has always loved DaT. Hopefully, he'll be the backup for 5 different positions but never start at any. DaT did a surprisingly good job at gunner though.

You're probably right, but I think he was going to be "big" for this team in a lot of ways. He's an excellent ST player. He's a "big" receiver on a team that has few. Without a TE2, I think he would provide that secondary big target (Harris is 6'7").

You’re 100% overreacting. Of course I’d prefer Kemp to those two, but he’s not nearly the loss you’re making him out to be.

DAT will be just fine as the gunner.

When DAT returns a kick that is inside the 5 or in the endzone it feels like our average starting field position is around the 18. Some of that is due to holding calls/blocks in the back, but he also rarely took one out of the endzone and got it to the 25.

I have no idea, but my guess would be he has a court date or an interview regarding custody and/or visitation or whatnot.

Which raises the question ... why don't the courts schedule appearances around the season and practices? What kind of Comma-nist legal system are we dealing with here?
