Five Albums/CDs You Want On a Deserted Island

Stranded on a deserted island, what five albums would you want?

(You have a solar powered CD player with you.... :thumb: )

Mine:

Led Zepplin - IV
Eagles - Hotel California
Rolling Stones - Hot Rocks (Best of)
Pink Floyd - The Wall
Guns n Roses - Appetite for Destruction

Rain Man 11-10-2004 02:38 PM

Can we make these albums into a boat? Or are they just for listening?

You HAVE one, and an endless energy supply..... :banghead:

Mozart's Marriage of Figaro
Beethoven's 5th Symphony
Dvorak's New World Symphony
Tool's Aenima

Rain Man 11-10-2004 02:43 PM

Boy, that would really stink to discover an endless energy supply and then be stuck on a desert island with no way to sell it.

Today is Russell Johnson's (A.K.A. The Professor) birthday.

He should have invented a potion to kill Gilligan. That way he could have gotten laid fairly easy and been off the island in no time flat.

This is all good....but what the real question behind all this is what brand of stereo are you going to have pumping out all these songs???

ALSO...do you have electricity on this island?

Or solar power??

or a lifetime supply of batteries??

CD's make great coasters for the coconuts if your stereo has drained all the batteries.

They make good frisbees too

What, you're anti-Springsteen? Commie kid-puncher.

CosmicPal 11-10-2004 05:09 PM

Van Morrison - Astral Weeks

Quite honestly one of the most incredibly beautiful set of songs ever vocalized by an Irish man, or any man for that matter.

Brian Wilson - Smile

I absolutely love this album- it would be perfect for lightening up those lonely days on the island.

Pink Floyd - Animals

Simply the most under-rated album Pink Floyd ever composed.

Railroad Earth - Good Life

Bluegrass without being bluegrass, jam without being jam. I'm not sure how to describe this delirious album, but I do know it's simply a delight to listen on repeated occasions.

The Grateful Dead - Europe '72

Most Deadheads agree this is one of their best recordings evah!

Because the Fleetwood Mac version is the correct answer?

As long as you're not talking about that crappy new live version they have that was all over the radio last year!

Who was that posted recently that he and his friends called pussies/wooses Fleetwood Macs in school?

No, absolutely not. Fortunately, I don't listen to much radio so I blessedly missed all of the suffering that this live performance caused.

Hmm, I haven't heard the Smashing Pumpkins version. The Fleetwood Mac version is great, as is the Dixie Chicks version. Maybe it's just a great song in general.

The rest of that Dixie Chicks CD is just awesome, though. One of my favorite all-time albums.

Mixed Up is fantastic. It's basically just remixes of older Cure songs, but IMO it's just about as good as the Cure gets. I wasn't a fan at all, untill I heard that CD.
