I hope we get freakin slaughtered

We need something that can trigger some serious change in our defense other then gunther. We need something that can trigger change in general management. A couple slaughters/big losses to finish off the season would be nice.

Brock 11-22-2004 10:45 AM

What a fucking fantastic idea.

Wow you've got some b@lls my friend.

I've been on record in saying that I'm not dissapointed in loses for it helps us in the draft but I haven't come out to say "I hope we get freakin slaughtered" yet.

That's not going to set well with a lot of guys on here.

Prepare to get flammed. :fire:

But way ta be bold.

Bob Dole 11-22-2004 11:06 AM

The term "dipshit" leaps to mind...

BigChiefFan 11-22-2004 11:07 AM

I'm not sure us getting slaughtered would even trigger much change, but I can see where you are coming from on this subject. No matter how much I want the Artrell Rolle's of the world on our team, I just can't root for us to lose, though. It's a catch-22.

alpha_omega 11-22-2004 11:08 AM

blsilks must not be a true fan

ck_IN 11-22-2004 11:08 AM

Just for the sake of arguement lets say we do. Do you seriously expect anything to come of it?

DV isn't going anywhere unless he wants to. CP has his back.

CP isn't going anywhere unless he wants to. The seats are filled, the season tickets renewed and Lamar is making money. He's not rocking any boats.

The most I'd expect is that Gun would throw his hands up in disgust and realize he's the designated fall guy. That in turn would give CP and DV a built in excuse for the following year.

As long as DV and CP prop their feet up at 1 Arrowhead Drive I wouldn't expect much of a change.

BigRedChief 11-22-2004 11:09 AM

Fuk that. I want King Carl gone but I'm not cheering against my team. Ever. I might boo but thats as far as I can go. They are my team win or lose.

ChiTown 11-22-2004 11:10 AM

Not me.

I just don't have it in me to root for something like that.

ChiefsCountry 11-22-2004 11:12 AM

Hey just hop off the bandwagon buddy cause you are not a true Chiefs fan.

ptlyon 11-22-2004 11:12 AM

Ahem.

Screw that, I want to know that we are still close.

blsilks 11-22-2004 11:14 AM

Well the thing that has always kept King Carl in his seat, is that they have always given us a Chiefs team that is good enough, a team that gives us hope and a team that keeps us coming back. Well I have had an entire decade of that and im on the edge of insanity. Drastic means call for drastic measures.

The Bad Guy 11-22-2004 11:16 AM

I'm not pulling for them to get slaughtered, but if this team finishes 8-8 all we will hear about is that injuries did us in and there won't be any changes made.

This season is already a wash and we aren't making the playoffs so if losing brings changes and allows us to draft a better player then it's fine with me.

Vermeil has proven the only time he can win big is when he has a last place schedule so make the sacrifice for next year. While I'm not rooting for them to lose, it won't break my heart if they do.

shows how much you know...it's year 15 of Carl's 5 year plan.

I just wanted to use decade because it makes it sound soooo long and it was an estimate but saying 15 years even support my point even further.

Or you could have used 3 Lustrom...that would have sounded even worse or you could have said 'almost a quarter century' -- that's pretty ominous too...

"Since the beginning of the age of man" also sound pretty good but the Carl lovers might end up calling me a liar.

Well, the trick is to make it sound as bad as possible, without actually making something up...then you lose credibility.

the chiefs are the "Kings" of PR spin and excuses

having priest miss a couple games is all the excuse they need for making zero change for next year. The viability of the excuses don't really matter.

blsilks 11-22-2004 11:25 AM

As a TRUE Chiefs fan I am going to be the one to say it. Lamar Hunt is Carl Petersons bitch and Carl isn't going anywhere.

I generally use "a decade and a half".

If I owned a company and my president was making me a ton of jack I wouldnt can his ass either.

Three-quarter score sounds impressive enough.

Isnt that great? You'll be able to predict failure for the forseeable future.

Good point.

I had a brain cramp and was using the old schedule formula.

But still, it could.

I like Vermeil, but it's pretty strange that he can only win when his teams suck balls the year before.

That, and I hear the Patriots are pretty good.

....and San Diego is (well, looks like) a playoff team, and the Titans were at home, and Oakland always plays us tough, and Denver is Denver.

At the end of the day though, that SB window is a little closer to being completely shut, and we have nothing but one awful playoff game to show for it.

Then again, only one team wins it every year  :banghead:

KCWolfman 11-22-2004 12:23 PM

There's some straight forward logic.

Look how it has helped the Royals over the last decade.

Standing pat after a 13-3 season isn't new. It happened under Marty, more than once, and each following season we sucked but. Then, after THAT season we went out and made a push to sign a bunch of FA's.

Gunther will have had a full year to evaluate the defensive personel, he'll know who he wants to keep and who he wants to can, and we'll go spend some jack.

svuba 11-22-2004 12:46 PM

Just for the record I hope we Kick the SH*t out of those pansy a$$, Media Darling, Pats.

The New England Patriots - Historys most Boring Super Bowl team - - zzzzzzzzzzzz

The Pats Do have Good Fans though.

What was boring about it? The fact they aren't the Chiefs? Come on up here, last year sure wasn't boring to us.

The fact we keep winning is kinda getting borring though :p

Uncle Jesse 11-22-2004 02:47 PM

Get slaughtered on MNF in front of a national audience?? I second the "screw that" comment.Yes we need some core changes to take place, but hoping for a Pats blowout borders on treason

Unfortunately we could lose the rest of the games 56-0 each and every game and nothing would change in the front office. Lamar is a passive owner that only cares that the seats are paid for, not even full (witness the 80s).

Rain Man 11-22-2004 02:54 PM

We're going to destroy the Patriots. This will be the Boston Massacre all over again. The Patriots might as well activate Crispus Attucks from their practice squad.

I heard they de-activated their punter.

blsilks 11-22-2004 05:09 PM

There is nothing wrong with saying that Gunther will get things turned around on defense now that he has had a full year to evaluate, but the problem is that how long are we going to keep telling our probowl offense to stick with us because our defense sucks. The hard part is going to be keeping this offense in tact while Gunther makes up for Robinsons mistakes. Will Gunther build his defense just in time to play with with our probowl offense before they split? Stay tuned!
