Chiefs never learn!
Well here we are almost through the first day of FA and what do we have to show for it? Nothing! I know what some of you will say, "Hey its only the first day, don't panic or the ever famous THE PLANET IS MELTING DOWN" But the fact is, in the NFL you have to have a plan. The chiefs don't. Any FA that leaves Arrowhead without a contract is GONE we won't have a chance. When is this front office going to learn to decide early who would best help this team and sign them. You think the ravens just decided this morning Mason would be a good fit? No! They picked him out weeks ago and said "thats our guy, we have to sign him no matter what." The chiefs just want to feel every thing out and wait till the dust settles. You know what that gets you, 35 YEARS OF NOTHING! Jesus christ how long do we have to put up with this crap?

DV is going to dinner with Rolle tonight. All three are still here in KC btw.
|
I know many here hate references to the Patriots, but let me tell you -- the Patriots NEVER do anything the first few days of free agency. That's for overpaying schmucks like Snyder's Redskins.
Ditto that for the Iggles (although maybe last year they moved quick on Kearse). The smart teams scoop up guys at a reasonable price, rather than just destroying their cap to be on the front page in March. |
WOOHOO!!!

OMG !!11 Teh Chiesf r imploding!11~

Carl just called and said he could do your job way better than you too.

I heard that the Chiefs have asked Rolle and Trotter to wait until June to make their decision because KC will have more cap room available at that time once Morton is cut.

Man, just chill out...
You should get yourself a date tonight with Stella Artois. She's a real hoot. |
THE PLANET IS MELTING DOWN

Thats right. Wooing FA is the outdated. Nowadays you gotta grab'em and by the huevos, force a pen into their hand and squeeze until they sign on the dotted line.

Yeah, actually, that is something of a point... :hmmm: And I have repeatedly said on here that I think you guys have a relatively limited window of opportunity to win it all while you have this ridiculously awesome offense... Maybe you should move quick and worry about cap issues after you (hopefully, as long as it's not at the Patriots' expense) win a Lombardi. |

ahh..aren't Trotter and Hartwell both MLB's? |
yes

Even though I am an impatient Mofo this thread is ridiculous. Especially with all of the news that is coming out at 1 Arrowhead Drive with Law, Hartwell, Rolle, and Trotter all coming in as we speak.

I once again depend on CP to educate me. And that's rather frightening to contemplate... |
This is just too funny.

WOW! This is my first FA with the planet where I've actually paid attention. This is a whirl wind!
|
Aside from the fact that blowing a gasket for no news on the FIRST day of FA is just a little rediculous, unless I missed something, FA hasn't been around for 35 years.

Heres one more to add to the signings.....
POSTED 8:15 p.m. EST, March 2, 2005 * PIERCE POISED TO SIGN WITH GIANTS * The NFC East linebacker shuffle will continue. * In past years, guys like Jeremiah Trotter and Jessie Armstead jumped from one NFC East squad to another, with both coming to the Redskins. * This time around, the linebacker is walking from Washington to New York. * A league source tells us that the Giants soon will sign free-agent linebacker Antonio Pierce to a six-year contract worth up to $25 million. * Pierce, an undrafted free agent signed by the Redskins in 2001, had 112 tackles, one sack and two interceptions in 2004, his fourth season as a pro.* He is generally considered to be the top linebacker available in free agency this year.* * POSTED 8:43 p.m. EST, March 2, 2005 I sure hope the chiefs drag their feet some more. Only two decent LB's left on the market. I sure hope DV's enjoying his dinner. |

Dammit Carl, there won't be anyone left! :deevee: |
