Call them and ask what their occupancy % is for the night and how many rooms they have total. Ask their normal rack rate.

think of any discounts you may have (military, govt., AAA, etc) and call them, hotel rates are all mostly negotiable, somtimes it doesent hurt to just ask the reservationist for "the best she can do for you".

Actually, i was an Asst. Front Office Manager of a Hotel here in town for 4 years. Normally hotels set a "rack" rate pretty high just to keep up %'s. but if you ask them to lower it or have some kind of discount it can drop pretty quick.
