How did everyone's FFL team do?

My team's 88 points leads all others in my league after week #1... beating my opponent 88-37... and I still have the Eagles D/ST to play tonight.

:thumb:

... next week though... I start Larry Johnson...

:banghead:

Mile High Mania 09-12-2005 01:53 PM

I'm 1 for 3 right now...

Trent Green, Hines Ward, Joe Horn, Dom Davis and Jamal Lewis let me down horribly in 1 league. All that talent and nothing... bastards.

Delhomme, Joe Horn and Steven Jackson let me down in another league.

Mr. Laz 09-12-2005 01:54 PM

2-0 so far :thumb:

jidar 09-12-2005 01:56 PM

bah

This was one upside down, backwards ass fantasy football week.
If you did well this week you got lucky. If you played the stats and maximized your picks for efficiency and performance, you probably were screwed. The guys who won in my league had terrible teams on paper.

Me? I got owned. >:(

Miles 09-12-2005 01:57 PM

For the second year my #1 WR got hurt for the season in the first game. Had Walker this year and Steve Smith last year.

DTLB58 09-12-2005 01:58 PM

In my two public leagues (Yahoo and NFL.com) which are head to head I am leading by a comfortable margin in both and should be able to pull out the victories even though my opponents have players on both teams tonight.

My private league that I run is a 8 team total points league and I'm in last placed but I am only out of first by 20 points and I have McNabb, Owens and Westbrook tonight so with a couple of passing t.d.'s to either one of those guys I hope take the lead by the end of the night.

I really wanted LJ this year in this private league. My son had him and Priest and selected Priest as one of his keepers but let LJ go back into the draft and because of several trades I made I was already full at RB going into the draft.

Now, the guy that has LJ also has Javon Walker and I have Donald Driver so considering the Walker injury now I am tempted to offer Driver for LJ and hope i can steal him away. Wish me luck.

shakesthecat 09-12-2005 01:58 PM

1-0 and in 1st place over all, thanks to a shrewd decision to start Willie Parker.

KCTitus 09-12-2005 01:59 PM

Im up by 49 points -- 83 vs. 34. Ive got no one playing tonight and he's got McNabb. I think Im safe to pencil in the 'W'. McNabb is good, but I dont see him putting up a 50.

morphius 09-12-2005 02:01 PM

In my 3 leagues I already have locked down 2 wins (their players are all done).

I have Vick and TO going tonight with a 14 point deficit to JSP who I think will be my number one competition in the league, so a win here could be helpful.

StcChief 09-12-2005 02:03 PM

102. Kicked a$$.

I won because my team kicks ass... P. Manning, Rudi Johnson, Julius Jones, Torry Holt, Anquon Boldon, Eagles D/ST, Jeff Wilkins, Todd Heap.
If Holt and Boldon would have just scored I'd have really kicked ass... and Heap... and if I'd have started L Johnson...

My future looks fine to me...

:D

How very schrewd of you...

:)

chagrin 09-12-2005 02:08 PM

6-2, I beat one dude's team and I didn't even play a kicker, lol!

Dart God beat me in our league from here...total bummer

Mile High Mania 09-12-2005 02:10 PM

This was a good week for teams that didn't know what they were doing in the draft... at least that's what I'm sticking with... :p

Hey now, all 3 of my teams are pretty solid!

cadmonkey 09-12-2005 02:12 PM

Lets see,

Mike Vick playing tonight

Aaron Brooks: FL, 192 PaYd, 32 RuYd

Caddilac Williams: RuTD (71), 148 RuYd

Domanick Davis: FL, 9 ReYd, 48 RuYd

Hines Ward: 25 ReYd, -1 RuYd

Torry Holt: 125 ReYd

Randy McMichael: ReTD (2), 55 ReYd

Nate Keading: FG (33), 3 XP

Ravens D/ST: 24 PA, 340 YDS

the guy I am going against has Brian Westbrook going tonight. I am up 71-56 as of right now.

Mr. Flopnuts 09-12-2005 02:12 PM

I'm only in 1 league. Lost my #1 WR that I was trading today for Priest Holmes for the season in Jevon Walker. Otherwise I'm up 5 points with Donovan McNabb and David Akers tonight against my opponents last player left the Atlanta defense. So if Atlanta pitches a shutout I'll lose, otherwise it should be in the bag.

Sam 09-12-2005 02:13 PM

I've got Team Scanlon beat in the Chiefsplanet Starz FFL, score is 79 to 33 with nobody left to play tonight. Got screwed over on the waiver wires or I could of had 8 more points.

My other FFL it's closer though. I'm leading 78 to 55 and have the Eagles D tonight while my opponent has McNabb. I got helped out there starting both LJ and Priest and picked up 28 points. Just had a feeling on that one.

ChiefsCountry 09-12-2005 02:16 PM

Green, Dom Davis, Andre Johnson and Jason Whitten sucked it for me yesterday. Otherwise it was pretty good day, and I had the Chiefs defense start as well. (My other D was the Jets and I know better to start a D against the Chiefs)

Yeah, yeah, yeah...

The league I'm winning has me resting with a 50 point lead. My players are done (thank you Stover for the 3 missed FGs) and the other guy only has Vick left tonight. Unless this is 1 of his 4 really good games tonight, I should have no issues winning.

Branch, McAllister and McCardell sealed my fate in one league - the one where I received nothing from Horn, Jackson and Delhomme.

Bulger, Fitzgerald, McMichael and D Jax sunk me in the other league thanks to Green, Lewis, Horn and Ward doing nada.

Iowanian 09-12-2005 02:20 PM

I need 11 points out of Crumpler tonight, and 4 points out of dunn, to win both of my league games.

I'm also in a money salary cap and find myself in 3rd by -500....Green et al didn't put up good numbers and 2 guys were smart enough to pick up the cheap, Willi Parker.

jspchief 09-12-2005 02:29 PM

I'm in 4 leagues.

1. Winning easily no Monday night players for either team.

2. Slight lead, have Owens and Westbrook vs Crumpler.

3. Down by 24, have Owens.

4. Up by 14, facing Owens.

So I have two wins in the bag, and I either need a really bad game from Owens or a really good game from him, for me to win in 3 out of 4 leagues.

you too, huh :p

grabbed willie in the bottom rounds for both my teams because i figured he'd be a cheap 1 to 2 week starter that nobody else would prolly think of drafting.

PBJ

wouldn't it just kick butt if parker does so well that he actually steals the permanent starting job!!

11th round pick = Starter hehe :)

Thig Lyfe 09-12-2005 02:47 PM

I'm beating my opponent 72-35. He has only a TE and K left in MNF.

Top Scorers:
1. M. Bulger 17
2. Tampa Bay Def 16
3. D. McAllister 15
4. P. Holmes 10

Kyle401 09-12-2005 03:10 PM

Left some points on the bench... I started Dante Hall at WR#3 (we get 1 pt/10 ret yards) but the lack of kick return opportunities combined with all the fair catches made that a bad play. Plummer sucked it up, K. Warner was better (glad I didn't play Pennington though). Should have started J. Miller instead of C. Woodson. Still would have won if the Giants D didn't get 2 F'n TD returns for 26 total points! Lost by 0.75.

foxman 09-12-2005 03:14 PM

0-3 for sure

I am up 25 in another, but the dudes got T.O. so I aint holding my breath.

Week ones are tough.

ArrowheadHawk 09-12-2005 03:22 PM

right now im losing 63-39 all my players have played but he still has T.O. tonight im fugged.....why didn't i start the Chiefs Def and Larry Johnson

Nzoner 09-12-2005 04:11 PM

I'm down 105.2 to 103.6 with T.O. yet to go

Bad thing is I led the 12 team league with most points left on the bench with the biggest coming from Jets TE Chris Baker and our very own LJ.

My 10 point bonus from the Coach slot bit me as I started John Fox over Steve Marriuchi.

KChiefsQT 09-12-2005 04:21 PM

won one of them, with T.O. still on my roster for tonight

but...

in the 2nd league I'm losing by 6 and have only L.J. Smith tonight. Not gonna get to enthusiastic about a win in this one. grrrr..

beer bacon 09-12-2005 04:24 PM

I lost by 6 points. If Trent or Baltimore would have had a decent fantasy performance I would have won :(

I don't know you're scoring rules but in our league you'd only be down by a 1 yd td catch.

carlos3652 09-12-2005 05:04 PM

I am winning by 9, I have Atlanta's Defense, he has TO and Crumpler...

A shutout is 20 points, 1-6 is 10. I need these to happen if I have any chance, I can see TO with 2 tds and Crumpler with 1...

In My other league I dont know, ESPN is "server Busy", I had Green, Favre, TO, R. Wayne, Atlanta D, Elam, LJ Smith... Not sure how I did...

luckeechief 09-12-2005 10:14 PM

Week Five I'm going to get buried, but I put up the second highest point total in my league in week one.

KCinNY 09-12-2005 10:25 PM

My team messed themselves yesterday.

Favre, S. Alexander, A. Green, H. Ward, D. Driver---all layed eggs.

My bench did great. :banghead:

Rudy tossed tigger's salad 09-12-2005 10:27 PM

I just won by a point. Thanks for not scoring TO :)

JazzzLovr 09-12-2005 10:28 PM

Just won my very first fantasy football game, 54 - 24.

My opponent had Culpepper.

And the Jets defense. ROFL

But I lost Javon Walker. :(

schneider221 09-12-2005 10:33 PM

i won big time.....
Hata Nation - 91
Dante's Inferno - 57

Biggest margin of victory in this chiefsplanet lg

with LJ who had a big week, and plexico and arnaz battle(on of my sleepers) who were both solid

ZootedGranny 09-12-2005 10:33 PM

Trent and Jamal Lewis hurt me, but I still dismantled my opponent, 113 to 69 1/2. In a perfect world, I would've scored 147 points, leading the league in optimal lineup scoring.

The two guys that really came through were Jimmy Smith (28 1/2) and Jeff Wilkins (15).

I think one guy set a record with 92 points sitting on his bench, his starting lineup scoring 90.

Eleazar 09-12-2005 10:34 PM

I won somehow, despite not getting a TD from my QB or either WR.

Portis, Dillon, and Cadillac were enough though.

Phobia 09-12-2005 10:37 PM

I'm proud. Got the win even against my opponent's 4 players tonight. I was a little nervous.

Just as important, I chose my starters efficiently as my backups all scored the same or fewer points than my starters. That doesn't happen for me very often.

dirk digler 09-12-2005 10:39 PM

I won all 3.

And to all of you that laughed at me and called me a homer for picking LJ with my 2nd pick..

nlm

Looks like in number 4 you forget you were also facing Vick and just lost 89-80. Booya.

Morphius 3 for 3 in week one. Just don't ask me about the survivor league and the gambeling thread.

David. 09-12-2005 10:45 PM

I got lucky, I only scored 53, like...4th worst in the leage (12 team) but my opponent only got 27 :p

hopefully next week trent won't shit on himself.

Logical 09-12-2005 10:46 PM

Won in boh leagues, scoring 94 in one and 99 in the other.

David. 09-12-2005 10:47 PM

is anyone else in the winners league on yahoo?

I'm hoping it'll be pretty competitive.

patteeu 09-12-2005 11:43 PM

1-1. High score in my 12 man league, second from the bottom in my 8 man league.

I can't say that I planned it this way, but both of those results are pretty good for me. It's obvious why a win and a high score is good, but the low score might be good in the long run too. The loss doesn't do me any good, but the low score gives me the 2nd priority in the first free agent pickup opportunity of the season. In that 8 man league, we have 20 man rosters so the free agent pool is more depleted than it is in my 12 man league where we carry 11 man rosters. It's been my experience in the 8 man league that during the first week or two, there are always a couple of players that slipped through the draft that will be far more useful than most of the other remaining free agents. Furthermore, we have a fairly high percentage of our payout going to those who have the high score for the week with the weekly payout getting progressivly larger as the season goes on and subsequent free agent priorities are based on YTD scores. IOW, late season scoring/wins are more important than early season points/wins and free agent opportunities are generally better early in the season.

Dr. Chief 09-12-2005 11:51 PM

My first round choice was Culpepper.

Nuff said.

JOhn 09-13-2005 12:54 AM

Won in 5 leagues :thumb:

Lost in 3 :(

But had I started Willie parker in 2 of my lossing leagues I would have won. AND had I started LJ ( instead of Arrington ) along with Priest in the other I would have won all 8 Leagues I'm in. :banghead: :banghead:
